FROM UK -Re Lalalands comments about fraudulent ebayers >the buyer claimed it was fake, ending up with the goods & got a refund from Paypal. I had the opposite situation when I purchased a pair of Chanel Sunglasses. Are about 90% selling not real? I found the best way to check was if the serial number on the lens matched that on the box. If they dont match they are not necessarily fake but if thy do will be genuine. She confirmed all these matched & I had the details in writing in her email. When they arrived the glasses were terrible, really flimsy, very bright & shiny and very new but the box & case were obviously used/old. The codes didn't even match the model/style let alone the serial number! I immediately opened a dispute & asked to return them and have my money back. I had to contact Paypal as she wouldn't give me her return address & I was told it was up to me to take them to Chanel (70 miles away) and get a document from them that would stand up in court stating they were fake, the glasses would then need to be sent back to be destroyed. I still have not been able to contact Chanel by email or phone to find out how I can do this & wil there be a charge. They seem impossible to contact here in UK. I took a chance & returned to her address & she now has the glasses & my money having not yet refunded!!! I also made a trip to Sunglasses hut only 40 miles away! They confirmed they did not appear to be authentic & pointed out several other reasons but were not prepared to put anything in writing.A really bad experience trouble is now I dont TRUST WHAT ANY SELLER TELLS ME. I think perhaps give up teh idea of buying them "used" from ebay as not sure if they exist!
