Made an offer and I accepted. Sent an invoice. A day later, he sends me an email saying he thought it was the large scarf (dimensions were stated clearly in the listing) and he thinks his offer ($250) was too much for what he ended up buying. But he'd pay me $200 for it... I tried to explain that if he didn't pay, he'd get a NPB and can have his account suspended. He responded by saying that wouldn't happen -- personal experience? In any case, AVOID!

I've just received an offer from a questionable buyer that I declined (so she/he is not a non paying bidder exactly but still someone to be aware of) -- 470913731 - one feedback and it says "buyer cancelled transaction." After the recent spate of NPBs, I declined. Is it just my experience or do buyers with nothing but numbers for a name spell trouble?

I'm truly grateful for having this as a resource and I had the time - Mardi Gras has hit the city and as I live downtown, I'm literally unable to leave the house as the parade routes shut me off from driving anywhere and the crowds are ridiculous. Plus, it was the least I could do in return for the help I received from other tPFers :D

Good for you! My situation is a little different but I had a buyer make an offer (my listing was BIN only) for $40 less than I wanted. I declined politely but then she messaged me saying she was going to buy anyway but demanded to know how fast I would ship (shipping terms were clearly stated). I decided to block her because my instincts told me she would not be happy with the item and could become a PITA for me.

Another loser for the books! After everything he promised to pay Monday. I had no other choice so I "agreed" -- just received an email saying "sorry dear...wife didn't like small scarf. Have to cancel the sale."

...I hate feeling this powerless!!! I can't even leave negative feedback. And this jack*** has the NERVE to call me "dear"? I'd like to kick him in a certain part of his anatomy. Worst part is that nothing about him screams loser - 23 positive feedback. Too bad there is nothing I can do about it!

Not real sure what's going on with this buyer. I sent her an invoice after the auction ended, and never heard a thing. I gave her 7 days to pay, and contacted her again. Still no response. I opened a case through eBay, and she hasn't even responded to that. Today is day 5 on the open case; I can close after 4 days but I was hoping maybe she'd come through. She has not, and I'm about to close the case. This particular buyer actually has 100% feedback, so I have no clue why she flaked out on me.

ALL buyers have 100% feedback! That's the problem with ebay now that sellers can't neg buyers.

Generally, sellers leave feedback for good buyers but if a transaction is less-than-perfect - whether a non-payer or a star dinger, rather than leaving a contradictory pos and risk having it removed, sellers just don't leave feedback for those buyers.

So unless those buyers are posted on forums such as this, there's no way to warn other seller.s

All good points. I really miss the way eBay USED to be, when you could actually be HONEST about someone, whether it was a buyer OR a seller. I do understand that some sellers were zapping a buyer with a neg after the seller received one from the buyer...but in situations with NPB's it really sucks that there isn't any other way to let other eBayers know about the person.

I had a bad feeling from the start.....a member since 03 with 0% feedback?? Anyways bid on my listing 2 days before it ended, also bidding twice with a higher amount 2nd time, she won then no payment, cool send her a invoice. She responds with a email stating how this is ONE of "her series of bids" as she has bid (at the same time) several other bids & likes the others better so "has decided against this purchase" WTH! First this is not how Ebay works (unless I'm out of it?) & 2nd common sense...aren't you suppose to decided BEFORE you bid?! Regardless the transactive was cancelled but very frustrating, thanks for letting me vent :pout:

She promised payment in a few days, then that day passed and a couple e-mails from me later she said she had an "emergency" and won't pay. I'm at my limit to repost auctions in that category too now so I can't even relist in until next month. I was counting on that $. So infuriating.

Gave an offer and I accepted, then logged off and disappeared. Never answered emails or paid. Probably had buyer's remorse or something... pfft. Luckily it was on Bonanza so it's easier to return fees after a week has passed. We'll see if this woman will pay..
