Ebay sometimes . . . . *sigh*
I sold an inexpensive item (not a bag) but miscalculated the weight and undercharged for shipping by a lot. I needed a much bigger box than I realized too. My fault and I was completely reconciled to eating the extra cost. But, I thought I'd contact the buyer, briefly explain, and ask if I could ship the item Parcel Select instead of Priority Mail, while also stating that I would of course honor the listing and send it Priority Mail if she wished. I've generally found e-bayers to be pretty nice. However, I got a nasty response that she didn't care how much it cost, how I should know better, among other things.

She was completely within her rights to ask for the shipping method stated in the listing but she could have been less unpleasant. I responded that of course I would honor the listing which I've done. Could be that she really needed the item in 2 - 3 days but my impression was that she enjoyed forcing me to spend the extra $.

I shouldn't have contacted her and should just have eaten the extra cost but I've been contacted a small number of times by sellers over the years who've asked for extra days to ship items or who wanted to change the shipping method and I always agreed. Oh well, note to self: triple check weight and box size on all listings.

The response of your buyer could & should have been better & perhaps she was having a "bad day" & you got the brunt of it.

A lesson learned for the future..not all buyers are as understanding as we would like them to be..

Do I have to wait for the non paying buyer thing to be resolved before reposting my listing?
You should. Your buyer might pay and expect you to ship, and if you have already relisted, you might sell it twice. I've had buyers ignore me completely, then pay once the unpaid assistant sent them a message.

Glad you finally got paid! And, yes, patience is definitely a requirement for selling on ebay. Oh, the stupid questions and ridiculous low ball offers I've had over the years. (No, I will not sell you that $500 item for $50.)

Thanks!

Yes I've gotten the stupid offers too. Haha. So annoying!!

The worst was someone offering 25% of the buy it now price, and wanting free shipping.

Blocked.

What I sometimes get are people explaining their low ball offers to me, that their budget is only a certain number of dollars, that they really really love the item, etc. That's all fine but I'm still not going to sell you something for 10% of the BIN. Yeesh.

I sold a $5 item on Ebay two weeks ago and checked the tracking today which says "Undeliverable as addressed". I printed my label through Ebay. I haven't heard anything from the buyer so I'm wondering if maybe the item was delivered after all. Has this ever happened to anyone?

If it's been 48 hours since the auction ended, you can file an Unpaid Item claim with ebay. They'll contact her and give the buyer a set amount of time (can't remember if it's 48 or 72 hours) to pay you and complete the transaction. If the buyer doesn't pay by then, ebay will reverse the final value fee you were charged and you can list your item again. The buyer also will get an unpaid item strike on their record.

I was trying to sell a few items I no longer want on EBay (most are listed at a few hundred to $1000)
What is with all the emails with these ridiculously low offers???
I seriously got six low ball offers within 48 hours. I was offered $100 for a brand new with tags handbag listed at $979 a few minutes ago. I swear Ebay is getting as bad as Poshmark with these harassing low ballers.
