Hi,
I placed an HL dress for sale on ebay, which is authentic. It has been up for 1 day of the 7 day auction. Tonight I get an e-mail from ebay stating my auction was removed:

Your listing has been removed.

Your item was removed because of a request we received from VeRO member BCBG Max Azria Group, Inc. asking us to remove the item for:

Item is a counterfeit product which infringes the trademark owner's rights.

For more information on why your item was removed, you should:
- Contact the VeRO member directly at [email protected] with your questions or concerns.
- Although most VeRO participants are willing to respond to polite email, please know that they aren?t obligated to reply.
- If after 7 days you don't receive a response from the VeRO member, please contact eBay by simply replying to this email.

Anyone else a victim?

Anyone have any suggestions on how to protect yourself from empty box scammers? I have sold on bay off and on (when cleaning out closet) over years and thank goodness have never had this issue, but it seems like this crime might be rising. I usually sent things usps delivery confirmation and fully insured if over 50 dollars, but for more pricey items $$$ do you recommend sign confirmation AND registered? I have always taken my packed box to the office before auction ends and weighed it then always printed the label off paypal with the weight, but would it be better for me to physically take it to the PO and have an employee weigh it etc at the service desk? Do they scan or weigh it at some point if you DIY?
Or am I just being paranoid? Years ago I sent a pricey purse with delivery confirmation and insured and the buyer left great feedback and sent me a thank you email as well, but the usps site never changed from "attempted delivery, addressee not home, package held at post office for pickup". So if I had a dishonest buyer ( i mean they could have looked at the tracking and seen the same thing) it could have been a mess.
Anybody got any suggestions?

Per PayPal rules, if the item is over $250 it must be sent with signature confirmation. I don't think there is a 100% way to protect yourself. If you look in the subforum you will see a thread entitled "Help, I think I'm being scammed" by HarperCassidy and you can read about how she was scammed.

Did you have any of there stock photos on your listing? I had an auction removed for that before i knew you couldnt do it

I only had photos I had takenof me in the dress and then the dress itself. This happened to someone else recently also. Her authentic HL dress was removed. I'm trying to get in contact with her so we can have strength in numbers (2). Hope thats pretty powerfull!

I literally just had this happen to me and I am so upset and unable to sleep because of it!

I listed a HL dress purchased by me from net-a-porter, there is no chance it's not real. It was up for 2 days. I fired off an email to the bcbg address provided explaining where the dress came from and asking what I could do. Was that the right thing to do? I would love to be reassured that someone has dealt with this successfully before!

I had just today added a link to the dress on Neiman Marcus, because someone requested modeling pics and I can't fit into the dress, so that wasn't happening. Is it possible that is what caused my listing to be flagged?

Thanks for any help!

Hi,
Sorry this happend to you and sorry to announce that I haven't successfully dealt with it. I wrote to the address but no response, now I will try ebay. This also happen to another person just after me. All I did was list my dress elsewhere. I will PM you. Good luck and don't lose sleep over this. E-bay is turning into the place where you can buy yourself a horrific fake (it's riddled with them) or a very expensive real one. No middle ground for budget fashionistas. My listing was pulled and it was only me in the dress at my home and then a link to photos of the dress in every imaginable angle taken by myself. No rhyme or reason. the other person also had her own photos I think. All the questionable dress have stock photos and they are still up.
