Really? Normally I would surmise this was either a newbie high-end handbag seller or a fake bag seller, but given your experience and collection, I imagine that you vet your sellers pretty thoroughly. Wow rude and/or ignorant of this seller. And how annoying and disappointing for you.

Did she offer any explanation for why that was too much information? (Maybe she is afraid someone would steal her photographs?)

Thanks thepoppet! Yes I really do try to stick with reputable sellers that I'm familiar with and/or have been recommended, so when I see an item I make sure I do my due diligence and ask for pics. If an item looks legitimate, I'l ask for pics not just for authentication but also to make sure the seller has the bag in her possession and they are not just stolen pics, which I'm starting to get a feeling is the case here.

She is a powerseller with 500+ positive feedback. I messaged asking if she could post pics or if she preferred she could email me, and I provided my email address, requesting the standard shots for authentication (serial number, tags, logo stamp) as well as overall shots showing interior and exterior instead of extreme macro, blurry close ups (b/c after all, some sellers "embellish" how new their bags actually are). Nothing crazy. These pics are necessary to ensure authentication and condition. And I have tons of feedback showing I'm a prompt buyer of many high end designer items, some of which are $1000-$2000+

She literally wrote back one line:

"hi and thanks for the interest - too much info asked for - if you'd like you're more than welcome to stop by and look at this coming weekend - ITS REAL AND NEW!"

Are you freaking kidding me? If she took a second to see my eBay profile, I don't live close enough to just "stop by" and take a look. Ughh... I also suspect shill bidding, as the bid history shows a high starting bid of someone w/only one feedback, 50% of whose bid history is with this seller in just the last 30 days.

Basically, possible stolen pics, shill bidding, and annoying legitimate buyers. No thanks! PM me if you want her username so that you can stay far, far away...

Hello Everyone,
I would like to purchase a bag from a site like ebay but the site does not have a paypal connection. In fact, you must contact each seller personally. I agreed on a price with a seller and wanted to pay with paypal. She says she doesn't have a pp account and prefers a bank transfer. Is it possible to transfer money from my pp account to the personal account of someone not on pp? Would this type of transaction be covered by pp protection? What do you suggest as the safest alternative for me?

TIA

If you pay someone directly by bank wire transfer, PayPal has nothing to do with the transaction and therefore will not protect you. PayPal only protects you if you use PayPal (and pay as an invoice for "goods," not as a personal transaction). And in any case, no it would not be possible to transfer money from PayPal directly into their bank. You would have to withdraw the money from PayPal into your bank account and then do a wire transfer from your bank to her bank.

However, DO NOT DO THIS. You will not be protected at all. I know this is a common practice in some European countries, but you are setting yourself up to be scammed if you don't know this seller and have no experience with them.

It's easy for them to set up a PayPal account.

May I ask, on what site did you see this bag?

Thanks for your reply. I asked her to set up a paypal account and sent her the link. Now I must wait. I had the bag authenticated and another option would be to go pick it up. I don't know if I could tell if she slipped me a fake in place of the one I had authenticated. I have never done business with this person and the idea of transferring money like that scares me. It is from the site designer vintage.

Yeah, it's really easy for her to set up PayPal. Just make sure when she does, you ask her to send an invoice for "goods." The other option would be to pick it up if you can and pay cash, but if you find out later that she gave you a different bag than you had authenticated, there wouldn't be any recourse.

Good luck with it!

Warning. RANT!

I list an item that I actually have several of. A ZERO FEEDBACK buyer hits the BIN.

Nope. I've never received angry, hateful, obnoxious, or just even rude messages. They are always polite. But then I haven't sold a ton, so....

Am sorry this is happening to you. How unfortunate and what a downer. Just delete.

Be aware of this ebay seller diseymom! she sold a birkin hermes 35. And I got the letter from fakespotters and paypal accepted . Here I highly recommend fakespotters. They respond very quickly and very responsible. Don't go to mypoupette, they never reply your email.

Put them on your BBL. They would have only been able to do that to you once if you would block them.
