Does everyone have a neverfull?

Why would the popularity of something prevent you from buying one or enjoying the one you have? Doesn't everyone have an iPhone these days? Oversized gold Michael Kors watch? Tiffany's tag bracelets? Just because lots of people have something doesn't suddenly negate the functionality or appeal of that item, and the same is true for the Neverfull. If anything, when I see someone out with the same bag, it makes me happy, that we're in a little "club" together even if the other person isn't aware of it. I don't feel lesser than, or that what I have is now not special because someone else has it. If I wanted a bag that no one else would ever carry, I wouldn't shop at a branded, international mass producer of monogrammed bags. :shrugs:

LOVE!! I've always felt this way. If you want to be "different" definitely don't buy a brand everyone knows. Makes no sense to dislike something because you feel it's so "common" but then want one. There is a reason it's so popular. Side note- I have an android because I wanted to be different! ;) (sarcasm)

What makes you think it was planned? I have one friend who is also a bag addict. We happen to have a couple of the same bags. We don't check with each other before getting together to make sure we're NOT carrying the same bag.
You would hate to see me my bf and her mom out for our girls day lunch because all three of us have one. It's a great bag. Also no it's not planned sometimes it just happens and who cares if it does? I'm not going to text my friend not to use her neverfull because I plan on using mines, now that would be juvenile.

I wouldn’t hate to see people! My goodness, y’all seem to think I’m sitting there pointing and laughing at you for carrying the same bag or giving you the stinky eye. It’s more of a fleeting thought and this is what’s going on in my head: “Huh, those 2 are wearing the same bag. Ouch, that girl has on really high stilettos. That’s amazing, I wonder how she does it, I could never walk in those. If I need to run away, I need flat shoes. How in the world do female superheroes wear high heels while fighting? Wait a minute, they’re superheroes. Duh. But then what do male superheroes wear...”

I don’t think about if it was planned, I don’t think much of it at all. Just that I wouldn’t do that because for me it reminds me of the popular girls in school who all got the same thing and were always going on about it. I don’t know if it’s a coincidence or not, I just make an observation and assign a positive/negative value on it. And yes, with my friends and sister, if I see that they bought something, I’d be hardpressed to get the exact same thing worn in the exact same way. For us, there’s an unspoken rule that you “found it first.”

A few nights ago I was at a golf outing at my local CC... After golfing, we all went to have dinner. Literally four women used their Damier Azur Neverfulls to "reserve" their seats. Four women! All sitting next to each other had a Neverfull in the same print, and one woman even brought two Neverfulls with her, one Damier Azur and one Mono... This was kind of nauseating for me and actually made me kind of dislike my Neverfull. I don't know why...; maybe it's because these women aren't the nicest people in the world. They are very clique-ish and only discuss things with one another and pretty much ignored the people that weren't in their "LV club" the entire night.
Exactly my thoughts.
It’s funny that people crying for “no judgment” and yet I’ve been called “unfair, shallow, juvenile, and lacking basic human kindness” from one measly side note.

I see alot of Neverfulls around but I always admire them when I see them (unless they are trashed of course) so it doesn't bother me. One of my other favorite bag styles is the Longchamp pliage, and I see even more of those around but I don't mind it either. These bags are popular for a reason and I don't want to not carry a bag that I love simply because other people love it too.

I love Le Pliage too! It was my everyday bag before I got my Neverfull and I still really like it. I didn't really know how popular those bags were until I went to Berlin: in two days that I've been there I've counted over 55 women carrying Le Pliage! In the city where I live in the past two years (that's when I got my first one and when I started noticing it around) I've counted TWO women carrying it on the street. That was ridiculous! But that didn't make me like mine any less, I wouldn't go on any trip without one!

I dont think everyone has the Authentic Neverfull. I see lots of fakes trying to be passed off as Authentic LV NF. I have NF GM and I love mine and will remain using it as my travel/beach bag.

That is why I went for Goyard St Louis instead of a neverfull. I don't mind other people having the same bag as me- it's a given, but the neverfull in a larger city is like having a MK bag. just my personal feeling.

I dont own the Neverfull only bc it has an open top and thats a deal breaker for me. all my bags must have top zip closure. I love the Montaigne so much but dont see myself owning this bag EVER bc even that one doesnt have full top zipper like the Alma, Speedy, Totally for instance..

You said this "You know what really drives me up the wall? When I see friends with the exact same bag, "I don't know why adults insist on dressing like twins, it seems so juvenile." That sounded like a dig to me not a fleeting side thought so I based my response off of that statement.

I meant you would hate to see us out because it "drives you up the wall" to see friends out with the same exact bag. Its not meant to be so literal like you hate us personally or hate to see people. I stated that I think it would be juvenile of me to tell my friend she cant use her bag because I am using mines and I stand by that. Sometimes when typing and reading online things get lost in translation, maybe that's whats happening here. I don't think you would hate anyone for using a neverfull and I apologize if that's what you thought I meant.

I own one and I love it. It's a great travel bag. When I bought it I knew how popular it was but I like it, to personalize it I just had the hot stamp it when I bought it. When I'm out the majority of LV bags I see are the speedy and Neverfull and I think it's because these are the most affordable and popular LV bags to own. I even bought my sister a Neverfull. I wouldn't let the fact that everyone carrying it deter me from buying if I really liked the bag.

On the other hand, I don't care for the speedy. I have one that's an Epi Speedy but it's very structured and doesn't sag. I don't care for the droopy look I quite often see. I like structured hand carried bags a little more so I prefer the Alma. I think people should focus on buying what they like based on their own style and what fits their lifestyle. Just my opinion. Here is my lovely Neverfull.[emoji6]ImageUploadedByPurseForum1436370372.305496.jpg

I live in Atlanta and work in a corporate environment. I have yet to see a Neverful in the workplace. I've seen a few when I'm out shopping but it's not often I'm out shopping. I personally have tried to stay away from the Neverful but now that I need a tote I am leaning towards purchasing one. I have a Tory Burch but it's not the everyday Tote I expected it to be, it's a little dressier. Looked at other totes but nothing else tickles my fancy so I'm sure I'll end up with the Neverful GM before the weekend is out.

And it doesn't bother me if I ran into 100 people with a real one or fake one.

I have the neverfull mm in monogram and I love it so much I'm thinking of getting it in DA. As a mom of three small children its a great bag because it literally holds everything that I need and its comfortable. I have seen a lot of neverfulls but then again I see a ton of the new delightfuls and Artsy bags as well. If you are a person that doesn't like to have a common bag I would stear clear of any of the popular louis vuitton styles. Personally it doesn't bother me if someone has the same bag I have and it won't keep me from purchasing other popular bags in the future.

+1

I love my NF's and just because I see a lot of women carrying them doesn't make me love them less. One time I was at the nail salon and three women walked in at the same time - each carrying a DE NF MM. That made me laugh- I was like "Seriously??" it just looked weird- I was like what are the odds? Maybe they were friends and coordinated or something?

I always have a bag charm or bandeau on mine to make it look different.

When I wrote that comment: I was recalling an instance when I saw 2 tourists that were wearing the exact same thing, head to toe. And I don’t mean wearing similar gray shirts or something, I mean the exact same clothes, bag, everything in the exact same way. To me, that’s coordinated, on purpose, and it didn’t appeal to me. It didn’t help that they were snooty. It’s just my opinion on the situation at hand: it’s juvenile to me and reminiscent of school where girls did that.
I’m not saying you need to coordinate with your friend about what you can/can’t wear, that’s ridiculous and exactly what I’m annoyed AT. And people keep saying mind your own business, why do you care, etc. Having an opinion does not mean I care. I don’t like fake bags that are “Prava”, it’s not like I care if you have one. Having an opinion does not mean I’m going to treat someone any differently. It’s not like I’m going “oh they’re juvenile. Don’t speak to them or hold the door open.”
It’s ridiculous to me the amount of people stating they don’t make passing judgments and are not judgmental. You are literally doing that every day when making choices. That’s human nature. My gosh, it’s like you can’t have opinions on the internet. :cray: Sorry, I went on a bit of a rant there SpeedyJC, it wasn’t directed to you or anything. You don’t have to apologize, I’m sure you’re a wonderful person with wonderful friends and all of you have great taste. :D

I used to own a Mono NF in the PM size and I loved it for a long time, but once NFs got more and more common, it did affect my appreciation for the bag and I eventually sold it. Currently the only NF I could imagine getting would be the Epi one. Generally speaking I am also starting to get tired of canvas, because I just see the same fabric made into different shaped bags all around me and it is starting to bother me. I will still love my Mono Artsy and Azur Delightful and may get one smaller canvas bag, but from then on it's mostly leather for me.

Personally I never understood why it would be a big deal if "everyone" seems to have the same bag. I buy a bag because I like it. I never cared if it's everywhere or if there are fake versions of it.
