Does everyone have a neverfull?

My first LV is a mono neverfull GM.
Neverfull is the first designer bag I love and own. I first saw the bag while in the mall, when others are carrying it. It never bother me that everybody has the same bag as mine, even if we carry at the same time. Actually, I felt happy. It means that I have good taste. ;)

Why would the popularity of something prevent you from buying one or enjoying the one you have? Doesn't everyone have an iPhone these days? Oversized gold Michael Kors watch? Tiffany's tag bracelets? Just because lots of people have something doesn't suddenly negate the functionality or appeal of that item, and the same is true for the Neverfull. If anything, when I see someone out with the same bag, it makes me happy, that we're in a little "club" together even if the other person isn't aware of it. I don't feel lesser than, or that what I have is now not special because someone else has it. If I wanted a bag that no one else would ever carry, I wouldn't shop at a branded, international mass producer of monogrammed bags. :shrugs:

I agree!!!

I agree with you 100 percent. I mean are friends suppose to make rules that they aren't allowed to use the same bag if they happen to own the same bag? Are they supposed to phone ahead to make sure they are not wearing the same color shirt? If both have their hair up is one suppose to take it down? I just don't get it.

i better tell my friend she can't bring her neverfull to work anymore or maybe we can do a split I use mines Monday and Tuesday, Wednesday is no neverfull day to keep it fair and she gets Thursday and Friday. I mean really!

Ha! You're so right. It feels very "Mean Girls" when you get right down to it. "On Wednesdays, we wear pink." and "She told me hoop earrings were HER thing." But I got chewed out for having a sensible, kind opinion of strangers. Go figure!

I don't know what is inappropriate about a 14 year old with an insolite. Her parents are the ones in a position to determine what is inappropriate for their daughter, lifestyle and financial abilities. What is inappropriate is your judgment of this young lady. Why is it inappropriate? Is it scandalous in some way? I don't get it.

My daughter is nine and has an LV wallet, a cles and a favorite. She also has Ferragamo shoes and other designer items she wears on a regular basis. These items don't cause me any financial hardship. My daughter is a great student and a delightful human being and I feel like she should have quality things. It is sad that adults would look at a child's belongings with envy. Tremendous case of sour grapes. How pathetic.

To the OP, if you love the NF, go for it! I have one and it is handy for the pool and beach and my daughter's sporting events. It is so ubiquitous because of its functionality. I don't see it as a purse, I regard it as a lightweight and handy tote and I have no issue with seeing them on others. I envy no one and I mind my own business and I buy what suits my taste and lifestyle.

Very well said!

I never own designer items when I was young. But I don't see why younger age get judged if they have designer items??? If their wealthy parents do not mind...why should I? Who am I to judge people I don't even know?

I have a few designer bags that I no longer like but didn't sell for sentimental value. I hope to pass them to my daughter (if I have in future), and if she happened to love bags like me lol.

No, I don't have one, but I do see them all the time. I like the bag, but the strap drop bothers me.

Logically, it shouldn't bother anyone to carry such a common bag, but we're not always logical creatures. It's kind of willfully ignorant to act surprised that people take popularity into consideration when making a purchase. It's a well known, studied phenomenon. It's human nature. It all comes down to whether you love the item enough to overcome it's over-saturation.

When I went to get the Neverfull the SA actually talked me into the Marylebone instead. Sometimes I regret not getting the Neverfull, but most times not. I should say I also have a Totally, I tend to buy LV when shopping for a tote, they wear so well. The Neverfull is very popular where I live. I can't even begin to tell you how many I see on women of all ages everyday. That really doesn't bother me. What does bother me is how many fakes there are out there of this particular bag. One of my favorite bags for traveling is my Prada cross body, this bag is also counterfeited a lot which makes me love it just a little less. I know it shouldn't bother me but for some reason it really does. A women in my town use to have "fake" bag parties, gross. I went once not knowing what it was and was disgusted. Now when I see these more popular models out and about it just makes me look at them a little different. I know it shouldn't bother me, but it does. And I would still like a Neverfull in Azur, so never say Neverfull!

I don't have one 😀 I have a lot of different LV but never bought one yet ! I do own a speedy B and those are pretty common .. If you like a neverfull I say go for it who cares what other people think .. make yourself happy !

I see alot of Neverfulls around but I always admire them when I see them (unless they are trashed of course) so it doesn't bother me. One of my other favorite bag styles is the Longchamp pliage, and I see even more of those around but I don't mind it either. These bags are popular for a reason and I don't want to not carry a bag that I love simply because other people love it too.

No, I do not have a Neverfull and never will. It is simply too big for my tastes. I only carry a zippy coin purse as a wallet, phone, and six rig key holder so I would never use it as a day to day bag. I am also not a hue fan of tote bags of that shape. I do need to get a summery larger bag for traveling in the car long distances, etc. I am looking at the Artsy in DA because I think it is a much prettier bag then the Neverfull. I don't hate the Neverfull but not a fan either.

Neverfull is the most useful bag style for me. No matter how many other totes I have (some of them are even more practical such as tumi q totes), I always go back to neverfulls.

I could understand people mirroring their own insecurities and envy on others and passing harsh, rapid judgements. However, making those judgements affect a bag the person carries is taking it one step too far for me. It seems to me that there are people in this tread who actually dislike the bag, because they see people they don't like (for various reasons) carrying it. I don’t think that deserves any further comment.

I occasionally ended up carrying the same blouses or dresses as my close friend, because we've had similar tastes. I don't think it's that uncommon and it's not like we did that on purpose. It wouldn't be my first thought that some people on the street planned on carrying the same bag, more that they happened to have the same one, because they have similar tastes. I'd say that passing judgement based on that information says more about the person who says it than people having the same stuff.

But as to the actual topic:

In the past year in my city I've seen total of 6 women carrying LV bags. Two of them were Neverfulls: one in DE and one in mono. The closes LV store is about 5 hour journey away and LV products in prints other than monogram aren’t really recognised here. I love my NF and I've carried her everyday since I've got her. In my workplace nobody knows that my bag is LV as they don't recognize DE. Other than that I don't really care if the bag is popular or not, I care about it’s functionality. NF is a practical, lightweight, roomy bag that I reach for in various occasions. I’d recommend it to anyone who isn’t bothered with the open top. There is a reason why so many people have it – it’s a great bag. ;)
