I'll post photo later some of my bags are well over 3 years old, the handle and the leather trim are still as good as new! My sales associate says it has a lot to do with you body chemistry like if you've got quite oily skin the oil can be transferred onto the handle/strap/trim when you are handling the bag, thus stain the leather bit and turn them into a much darker colour.

That is a good point! I’d love to see some of your pictures!

I don’t have particularly oily skin (at least my esthetician says I don’t haha) so hopefully that is in my favor!

I do worry about hand sanitizer. I use a lot of it. Especially with commuting I hate touching anything with germs. Should I try and minimize my hand sanitizer use???

I am concerned with getting caught in the rain, but if my Vachetta has a nice tan I should be ok? What do you guys think? Of course I’ll have an umbrella but I still worry about stray droplets!

Also hand sanitizer; this could be bad for the Vachetta right?

Hi everyone!

I’m looking to get a new workhorse bag and I’m thinking of the GM neverfull in Monogram.

I already have the MM DE neverfull.

I’d love to see pics of your Vachetta if anyone else does not baby their bags! I am so scared of using a Vachetta bag as a care free everyday commuter bag.

Anything you can say or advice you can give to help me take the plunge is much appreciated!

Thank you all!
My 30 year old keepall 55. It has been dropped, stepped on, tripped over and scraped against car doors, numerous walls, wet and everything else. I just yearly spray the vachetta with a waterproof boot protector and keep it moving. I'm not afraid of vachetta whatsoever on my keepall or other mono bags. IMG_4709(1).jpg

SO BEAUTIFUL!!!!! Absolutely amazing. Do you bring her out in the rain??
I live in San Diego

So, all of your questions (hand sanitizer, etc)...you seem very concerned with caring for vachetta leather. I never had all of those concerns, questions.

Do you think that if you bought a bag with vachetta, you would baby it, worry about it, maybe not carry it much? It really doesn’t matter how many pictures we post, if you have this much concern over the vachetta, maybe it’s not the right bag for you? I wouldn’t buy a bag that’s going to stress me out ... I wouldn’t be able to use and enjoy it. Maybe a DE canvas would be a better choice?
