Does anyone else here DISlike LV?

At the risk of being lynch-mobbed,I am amazed to see so many stylish women liking LV bags. I have never seen one I liked...never seen one that didn't make me gag. In pictures or otherwise.

I really don't get the attraction...at all...I hate the monograms, cherries, graffiti, multicoloured monograms, denim bags...etc etc etc etc...plus,with sooooo many fakes around I usually assume that any LV bag I see is a fake.

I know...I'm prejudiced and I discriminate against LV bags....I thought I should come clear on this front before continuing as a member here:wacko: .
when i was little i didnt get it. my mom would spend almost everyday in their store in Paris (france) and i would b bored of my behind.
theyre brown, simple, the decoration blends right in, and now....theyre going for a young and cartoony look. wtf?

even though with all its quirky additions and boring past look, i think that LV will b forever the sign of wealth or being rich or just earning more than ur average person. u ever watch movies and see their brown luggage...look closely and u just mite see something familiar.

try owning 1, theyre extremely practical, theyre solid and they last.

Correct me if i'm wrong but this bag is fake is it not... :weird:
Handles seem too long and i dont/didnt think they made a straw-sac-de-nuit-orange

I don't like LV bags. I think too many people by them just because of the whole logo and status symbol think. I personally don't like the Louis Vuitton look at all. The bags are all about the logo. Allthough they had some nice bags without the logo a while back. Was it last year?

I don't like LV because the quality isn't that great.
My Damier cosmetic bag is peeling on the inside...everything in the bag has red flakes on it.
And my loden green mini-monogram Josephine is just a nightmare that can't be cleaned. Even the staff at the NYC flagship said to clean it at my own risk.
So since then, I refused to give anymore money to LV. Their monogram bags are over-priced too...I refuse to pay over $1000 for plastic coated canvas bags with leather trimmings. :amazed:

That just seems strange to me because LV is known for their quality. I've found that there are few companies whose products you can buy blind (mail/phone order, don't need to see it first), and LV is at the top of my list along with Lalique and Halcyon Days. They're just THAT consistently good. My Mono wallet is nearly 16 years old, and it looks new. Another poster on here has used hers for 18, and it looks new as well.

When I sold the line at a department store, I took in a ton of pieces for repair, and some were 20 years or older. The women were also frantic as to when they'd get them back.

I agree with you, My pti was made in 11/92 and is in wonderful condition.. I can only hope i get 8-10 more years out of it.

I guess it goes with the saying, You get what you pay for.
When i first looked at LV i was like OMG you want me to pay 700+ for a handbag... I was shocked.. but when i see howthey have held up.. I know why they have been around for so long.

I guess its all about taking care of your things and how you treat them.. if you treat them well and take care of them they will last you forever.

I've recently bought a papillion damier ....hmmm so you're saying that the quality is poor and that it'll peel off?

I'd like to start off nice and small with an LV purchase, like a wallet, purse or something, test the water slowly, see how i like it.

Anything else LV (that's genuine!) is just way out of my price league, but i would buy some LV if i had the money.

Now i've learnt more about telling the difference between fake or real LV on here, i'd be more likely to get one in the future, but i'm not keen on most of the styles - my personal preference is the MC in black.

No way! It's solid! I like damier even better than monogram because the handles are nice and smooth and will never "age".

Keep in mind the mono does the same. I'm not usre about the new ones but the older ones do the same... Something to keep in mind... its the lining not the bag itself.

Maybe something got spilled on the inside?
