Sorry to dig up an old thread, but I gotta question!!
I saw a classic flap 'm/l caviar black with gold hdw in the brandoff tokyo store (a reputable reseller), and its serial number is 20xxxxx (which indicates that it is produced this year). And it has a stamp of the cc lock, which should indicate that the gold hdw is gold plated.
I did some research on TPF and the black lining should only be found on before 142xxxx, and chanel stop plating their gold hdw after 2010.
Do u guys think it's a real deal?:p

If you see the serial number count to see if it is 7 or 8 digits long. If it is a 7 long then it is a 2 series and that is consistent if it is 8 then it would be a new 20 and . . .:graucho:

The serial Number is 20xxxxxx, and it should be produced this year :p yet I heard the black lining and stamping on the upper left of the cc lock have been stopped after 2010? is it possible that chanel still have some flaps like that in random shipments? :o

I can't say without seeing it. I will say, it seems highly unusual that would be recent. That's why I was wondering if it was maybe a 2 series vintage.

I can't find the listing their website :( yeah I know it's unusual. And they sell it as brand new in the store, with the new white dust bag and box..but brand off is such a big company I don't think they sell fakes..
