This is my marking. I cannot make out what it is.
OO that's kind of you to try. Mine has a very definite "M" on it. I've bought it pre-loved but my concerns are growing about its authenticity. It is a 2006-2008 bag. The thing is the authenticity card has the little grey sticker but the CC logo seems a bit off-center to me so I'm just hearing warning sirens. Would be great if someone had a similar bag so we could compare. x

Was yours authenticated anywhere? Mine was authenticated by Vestiaire Collective, then here in the Authentication thread and also in a FB group. So three times actually. Then I had peace of mind because that Made in Italy worried me.

No, it has not been. A lot of things check out with the bag. The lady I bought it off (on ebay) said she bought it herself from NM in the states. The serial number matches, high stitch count, the patchwork aligns pretty seamlessly. I'm just concerned as it's the first time I've bought a Chanel bag.

I understand because that was also the first time I had bought a Chanel. Do have it authenticated here. The ladies here authenticating know what they are doing.

I had a look but I couldn't see people replying to requests. I think it may be just because I'm not very familiar with how things work on here. I'll take a better look tomorrow and try do a post. Thank you for all your help.x

You are so welcome. I am sure if you have it authenticated here you will have your answers and I hope you will find it is authentic. It is a lot of money to risk. Do let me know what you find out xx

Reviving this fascinating thread for those interested in the hallmark stamp on the gold-plated CC turnlocks. I recently purchased a vintage 5-series small classic flap circa 1997 and have become (sadly) obsessed with trying to figure out the marking inside the tiny square. Mine appears to contain tiny hieroglyphic figures.

This is my first-ever vintage Chanel purchase and has brought out my inner OCD nerd, full throttle…. What a fascinating rabbit hole I have ventured into!

Much easier to buy a new bag from my fun SA in the boutique. Although, I’ve found that researching and buying vintage is a great diversion from all the negative reality in the world!

I have a vintage 4-series double-faced flap ("jumbo" dimensions). This is what I was able to catch with the magnifier.

Through a jeweler's loupe I can make out the letters "St. L" on either side of what appears to a stick figure but a little more complex. Can anyone see it?

Most likely these are goldsmiths' marks and not specific to Chanel -- but surely Chanel uses the same goldplating clients for all their hardware.

My vintage bag has exactly the same hallmark and my friends' have diff markings. Paranoid here
Yes, I had it authenticated by Zeko. I then sent the bag to Leather Surgeons for a spa treatment, who will not work on bags that are not authentic. So, it’s been twice-authenticated.

If you are worried about your bag, I suggest getting it authenticated for peace of mind.

This is an old but good one….

However maybe someone will see this and have a clue as to how common the placement of the little hallmark ( or whatever it is ) being on bottom right side of the double cc. I’ll try to load a photo.
