Addition inputs...yes my watches has scratches but maybe due to the good materials used, whenever I send my watch in, it will be 'polished' and return to me..so far so good..yeah! (i am very rough even expensive but careless on my part)

JFK100, I understand your hesitation. But I found a solution that works for me.

I bought a yell gold Cartier tank F, then decided that it was so beautiful that I didn't want to scratch it while chasing kids around a park. So I then bought a used yellow gold Cartier Panther at a reasonable price, which I wear as my knock about watch, and I bring the Cartier tank F out for gentler occasions. I am the type of person who notices and is bothered by scratches, so my rotation really works for me.

From my experience, when you get your first lux. watch, you take really good care of it and don't want to scratch it. However, blemishes are inevitable. It will happen. I wear my watch everyday and there are scratches on the bottom. IMHO, it adds character. Besides, you can always buy a replacement band if it bothers you too much.

My big splurge for my 40th birthday was a Michele csx33 diamond deco with the dual gold/silver tone. Not sure if that's luxury per se, but first time I dropped 4 digits on a watch .

And yes, I wear it nearly every day...with t-shirt and shorts or with a dress, it's equally divine.

XXXOO PG

I alternate between stainless steel Rolex, pave diamond Philip Stein, and Patek Philippe 18K gold 24. I believe it's named "24" because it's meant to be worn every day. I probably wear the Patek most frequently. When it bears many scratches, I have it polished by a jeweler that sells Pateks and will do a good job.

I wear mine every single day(to the gym, store, school, work). I feel lost without a watch. I have a rolex and a breitling so I switch between the two depending on what color I am wearing.

I have 2 flashy watches (Omega with sapphires and diamonds and a Concord with diamonds) and I wear them almost every day.

However I also do volunteer work with children from disadvantaged homes, and on those days I wear a plain watch (I have a Skaagen and a plain stainless steel watch with a leather band).
