Do you wear your designer bag to work/interviews?

Sure I wear my nice designer bags to work. I work in an office where the ladies dress nicely, but not in high fashion. To them, a Dooney or a Coach is the top-of-the-line bag. I don't expect anyone to know the designer or the price of my bags, I just hope that they like the style and the color.

I think we work in the same office!

I take my bags to work. I work mainly with men and the only comments i ever get is when i show up with one of my Chloe paddingtons, none of them understands why i carry a big heavy padlock around on my bag

why should we judge others by the bag that they carry. For instance, some of us are in upper management, junior management and execs...how do we know what kind of lifestyle others have. Just because you have an 18 year old working for 12 an hour does not mean she doesn't live with her parents or comes from wealth.

We come across people from all walks of life. Why try to judge them by the bag that they use? I thought we were in this to enjoy and appreciate other's styles for arm accessories?

HELL YES. Of course, I never have ANYTHING with logos on it (at most, it's something in the small corner a la LV EPI or on a clasp like for Ferragamo), and I think logos are probably pretty inappropriate for a young person to carry to work (just too ostentatious). While I will happily wear Ann Taylor clothes that I got on sale, I will also wear my nice bags to work (and of course, I usually get them on resale at good prices!).

ETA: One key thing is that I have (a) a private office and (b) several locking cabinets there. My answer would probably be different if I didn't have those things.

I find it's not ME who is judging them, it's them judging ME.

I head a mid-size agency's interactive design department. I am very careful with how I dress/accessories I carry, as I know what I wear is who I am superficially to those who don't know me. I'm perfectly happy wearing a paul frank t-shirt, shorts and flip flops on weekends, but I know that's totally impossible for me at work now even though my agency does not have a dress code. For if I walk into work in my weekend garbs:

1) those who have to get approval from me will think "who is this little girl bossing me around?"

2) my clients will think "who is this little girl telling me i need to spend half a million bucks on a website?"

And yes, like it or not, we're being judged all the time by those around us. When I see a jr. designer come in with a bag I wanted to buy, the bag is on immediate "no" list.

The only bags I own are designer, and I wear them everywhere. I intern at a law office and sit at a desk all day. I felt uncomfortable wearing them at the beginning because of some of the looks I would get; one of the secretaries pointed out my bags, & asked me why I'm working if my father is footing my lifestyle but after a while I really didn't care anymore.

How rude!

I cant since I work at Wal Mart...

A.) the lockers are way too small
B.) I would look a little silly carrying LV and wearing navy blue and khakis! lol

But my bf, who has a nice office job carries his to work lol (i'm jealous)

I wear mine to work. I am in COACH country (for the most part). Most people don't know who designs my bags or how much they cost. This happens even when I carry COACH because I don't carry the signature/logo bags.
