Do You Prefer Size 30 or 35 Birkin?

I like reading different opinions on sizes - very interesting. I have both sizes and I am one of the few that prefer a 35. For me, it depends on how I see a bag being used - my idea of the perfect look for a bag. The Birkin is a workhorse - it's a tote style in a classic design. For me, it's not meant to be dainty at all. That's why I prefer the size 35. I am about 5'4" and I love it best with high heels and great pants for work - I would never carry a Birkin to a wedding or like occasion. So even though I like the weight of the 30, it's too pretty and cute for me to be used as a rugged workhorse - the way it should be in my mind. If I want to look ladylike and pretty as opposed to an executive look, I'll reach for a Chanel flap or the Lady dior, or even the kelly - those have a slightly different feel. I think smaller bags are really popular now and are making people reevaluate bigger sizes, but I think the 35 will always be classic..

That is my perception too ...
Described perfectly

I can only say that you're right. I reach for 35 daytime and Chanel for evenings most and my dear B30 stays quite a lot in my closet. [emoji22]Kelly if I need a strap and safe lock on trips.

I am 5'4.5" and petite. I like the B35 because although it may be a fashion faux pas, I can wear the 35 on my shoulder if need be. Sometimes this is necessary with a 4 month old baby to carry if I am closing the car door, at the grocery store, etc. I do have a 32K and a JPG version 1 for shoulder carry, but they have their own inconveniences. A deeper tote bag that fits on my shoulder in a pinch is very convenient!

I recently acquired a B35 togo and actually don't find it heavy. I even feel that in the crook of my arm makes it lighter rather than hand carrying. I've tried a B30 on before and just felt it looked too dainty on me. I'm 5'5" without shoes and 5'7" with shoes and am not slim. Also, IMO, if the bag is a bright color, it will appear bigger. If it's a dark neutral, it will optically appear smaller.

I think the things in the bag are what make it heavy. When I hear that ladies carry around a water bottle I think that definitely adds to the weight of the bag. I'm also careful not to haul around a bunch of spare change. I think coins are really heavy too.

I am very happy with my decision of a B35 since I knew the bag was only going to be used in the daytime. My other bags are K32s and have one K28 for occasions where I need a smaller bag. But my go-to bag in the evening is a black Kelly cut.

I'm 5'7 and on the slim side. I love my 30. It is perfect for day time activities. For night time I would like something smaller so I'm looking to get a 25. But I will say yes to another 30 if it comes my way

I'm 5'7" and owns both 30 and 35. I like both, smaller as a casual bag and 35 as a work bag if I need to put documents. I find 35 a little too heavy for me though. In terms of fit, I think small looks cute on me because it's definitely small in comparison to my frame(I'm slim). The 35 looks more proportionate.

Just like the above posters I am 5 ft 4 ".
I have both B 35 and 30 . I however like B 30 and regret B35.
It's just too heavy for me even if I don't fill the bag.
However I do agree it looks great, just not comfortable.
