Do you notice less people carrying LV?

I live in a densely populated area in between NYC and Philly. I would say that I observe a mix of contemporary and luxury brands. I’m in my 30’s but I see people in their 20’s with luxury designer bags but teens don’t seem to carry any bags. I mostly see them with their phone and maybe keys attached to a little wallet/card holder. Most popular brands overall are MK, Coach, Marc Jacobs, Tory Burch,, LV, Gucci - occasional Prada and Chanel. I don’t see many YSL bags but I’m a huge fan of YSL so I like not having the same bag as everyone else. There is a certain area and mall that has all luxury shops and it was mentioned in here before - Short Hills Mall. There is pretty much nothing but high end designer bags there haha! Hermes and Chanel are adored in the wild haha!

A few of you mentioned YSL becoming more popular in your towns, and I think I'm noticing the same as well. I wonder how much Rose from BLACKPINK has to do with it :loveeyes:

Thought I'd elaborate on my town instead of where I touristed. It's a pretty laid back city, luxe became a bigger thing in the last 10 years and that almost definitely coincides with the rise of tourism and international students bringing in new trends and tastes. (Our dining scene has exploded, too!) We have a lot more variety of brands now. Also people often love the local leather bag brands and they are mostly more affordable than LV. I didn't grow up seeing much LV except a couple of girls or their mums from school carrying a canvas Speedy on occasion. But here, I agree with another poster here (my screen won't let me tag you sorry blushinbellinlove), we have a wide mix of cultures and backgrounds, so people are usually as comfortable carrying casual unbranded fuss free bags as well as luxe. We don't tend to be showy here except maybe at the biggest mall or in the city on a night out. People are very into high-low or understated style.

Loved reading about all your different stories! It's always fun bag watching!

I'm not in LA much but in Pasadena. I rarely see much high end designer. I rarely opt to bring LV while I'm in LA. I rather dress like a bum now than risk being robbed. Maybe I am being still paranoid. LOL
Amen. Being in LA area the past couple of years I also dress down, don’t wear jewelry and opt for leather LV, not mono, Ferragamo or anything else under the radar. Even occasionally going to BH I always have eyes in the back of my head. This city has became CRAZY!

In my area LV bag is de ri-gueur for all the soccer moms with a few hermes scattered here and there though it’s usually the monogram mainstay pieces (nf, speedy) complementing the well dressed ladies.

Even the teens, especially lads seem to dress designer. Though that’s usually gucci.
Sounds like my area. Lots of basic LV with a few Hermes here and there, and rarely YSL, etc. Gucci as well but that skews younger.

I’m in Germany and I see LV everywhere  And I love bag watching. There are also YSLs and Chanels all over the place, only some Gucci and Dior. And it’s on woman of all ages, even very young women wearing luxury bags which I couldn’t effort when I was in my 20s Lol.
My DH said that woman are only staring at bags on other woman and nothing else seems to be interesting…

Same here, I always have to check out every woman's bag! Not for judgement but just out of curiosity and because it is my obsession. So my look always wanders automatically to the bags. Don't care for shoes or clothes at all :giggle: .
One day I was in the city with my Reverse Pochette Metis and I swear I saw at least 5 other women wearing one too. Like we all had the same thought in the morning that it is a perfect day for the Reverse Pochette Metis (which it was).

I am close by in Altadena. When I head out, I see a lot of LV, some CHANEL, and rarely on occasion H. Lots of MK out there too. Mostly see LV at the Santa Anita mall.

I see lots of lv everywhere.
That's probably why prices continue to go up. I think they want to change the demographic of who can own their bags.

Not one lulu belt bag in sight. In this super rich Asian country, everyone and their grandmothers carry a designer bag.
Your comment made me . Us Asian gals LVoe our LVs ! But alas, I had no idea what a lulu belt bag was, so I googled and am safe from being a future "lulu" bag owner :P.

I've struck up conversations with random gals about the LV bags on them. It's a common interest and DH gets to see that i'm not the only crazy bag lady in town....
