Do you notice less people carrying LV?

That is funny because I live in Ann Arbor as well and see Louis all the time…everywhere! A lot of Gucci and YSL as well…very popular here in all age groups.
Chicago burbs - def see the most Gucci, YSL and LV, plus the belt bags. Sometimes a goyard/loewe actually in the city but the first three seem to be the suburban bag of choice. Myself included lol.

I’m in a small, one stop light town and I’ve never seen anyone (besides me) wear luxury goods. There’s a lot of COACH and MK here.
When I venture to the nearest city I see a lot of LV, with a sprinkle of Goyard, YSL and Gucci. I do see the Lululemon belt bags around too. In general I’m not a big beltbag person, but I actually love the Lululemon ones, and have 9 in different colors. I sold 2 Gucci beltbags and my Burberry one because I prefer the Lulu ones, and I don’t care if they get ruined or anything. I wear them when I bring my kids to the trampoline park, arcade or theme parks.

Wow, that’s hilarious about the Lululemon belt bag. I actually have one that I bought a few years ago for the sole purpose of holding my phone while I go on walks and I never imagined people would wear it as their regular bag. It’s not a phenomenon I’ve seen, but I also haven’t been paying attention. I do notice plenty of LV in metro Detroit, though.

Where I live I mainly see Coach or DB. One out of a hundred bags might be an LV or Gucci but usually a knock off. I'll wear my LV or Chanel and no one really cares, once in a while someone will ask if it's real. I'm also a Loungefly collector and wear them alot. Those get a lot of compliments. Personally I wear and own item I enjoy. I don't care if it's "trendy" or popular.

I'm not in LA much but in Pasadena. I rarely see much high end designer. I rarely opt to bring LV while I'm in LA. I rather dress like a bum now than risk being robbed. Maybe I am being still paranoid. LOL
You are not being paranoid. It is a sad reality now and it makes me mad.

I live in the East Bay of California, near a wealthier town where I often see LV's while out shopping.

However, in the last couple of years women have been targeted, especially in parking garages, for their bags. So, I've seen more lower end purses or cloth totes, but there are still plenty of defiantly worn LVs, Gucci, Goyards, YSL and Prada around in this town. I still use my bags in the area, too. But when I go into Oakland or New York (where I'm originally from), I drive in, as I can't imagine taking a train into these cities these days, let alone with a designer bag. It really stinks.

When I go to lunch with former work friends in Oakland, for instance, I often leave my LV in one of their locked offices to avoid walking several blocks with my bag. Or I have been known to put my LV or Gucci in a cloth tote to hide. I am not being paranoid. Last month in Oakland, a woman was at the bank midday and was blocked by another car while she tried to exit and an accomplice smashed her passenger side window to steal her bag (no idea what kind it was). She gave chase on foot and somehow got stuck in their car door and was dragged 50 ft, smashing her poor head along the way. She died. Down the street a few years ago, young women were regular targeted for designer bags and one lady had a crossbody that someone in a car tried to snatch, also dragging her along the way (it was on surveillance camera). Fortunately she survived.

Was out and about all day on Friday.. went out to lunch with my husband and spotted the first and only LV of the day. Just as I had mentioned before, on a woman who was 40+

I'm surprised by the people here who have said they "didn't know" what a Lululemon belt bag was.. Perhaps since you didn't know what they were, you weren't looking for them while out? You wouldn't have even known what you were looking at even if you had seen them.

They're everywhere here in CA and almost all of the fashion influencers I follow on Instagram (who are all over the US) push them hard over the holidays (esp that fleece design!), I'm just genuinely baffled by people who say they've never heard of them. I'm guessing you must not be a Lululemon athletic wear customer at all then, so that might be a reason?
I think there’s a huge difference between Europe and US/CA. Over here in Europe Lululemon is not very popular. It was in the news in connection with some minor scandal, that’s it.
Also I think the lifestyle is different here and the setting of course too. Gym wear stays in the gym. People wear „regular“ clothes and bags also when going for a walk or walking their dogs.
And at the city centre everyone wears a designer bag, also young women. Lots of LVs, Chanel, Hermès, YSL, sometimes Dior, Loewe, Celine, Mulberry.

I agree that clothing choices are different between the US versus other countries. I'm in the states and so tired of seeing most women wearing "gym" clothing everywhere. I like certain athletic wear like track pants, sweatshirts, etc... But gym tights and sport bras worn in every single setting, IMO, has gotten ridiculous. It actually gives me the "ew" factor like your walking around all sweaty after a workout and didn't change  even though you might not have done any working out at all. Can't help but think it!

That explains why most of the celebrities in the thread „celebrities and their LVs“ are wearing sports / gymn clothes with their LVs!! I was wondering why the pictures are always taken on their way to the gymn or after  lol

I saw a LOT of people rocking the lululemon belt bags in Canada! I wondered if it was a Canadian thing with lulu being Canadian. But belt bags/messenger crossbodies are more popular now in other parts of the world, too. I did see some LV, was touristing so don't know what's normal there lol but the LV was definitely mostly only in certain parts of town like the luxe shopping areas.
Agree! People (including myself) love the Lululemon bag because it’s so dang convenient.
To respond to OP’s post, LV or any designer visibility varies according to the area you live in/work at. I work in an area where if you stand around for 10 mins you will see at least 5 LVs, 2 YSL and a few louboutin heels

I too had to Google this belt bag!
Anytime I hear Lululemon, I think of that documentary LuLaRich, which is about all I know about the brand.

ETA: they are not the same companies, btw. I am totally ignorant of both!

Of course today I saw like 4 Chanel bags I only saw one that looked new, a 19 flap. The others were in great shape but obviously vintage! And then allll the others were Lululemon belt bags lol

I’m in Germany and I see LV everywhere  And I love bag watching. There are also YSLs and Chanels all over the place, only some Gucci and Dior. And it’s on woman of all ages, even very young women wearing luxury bags which I couldn’t effort when I was in my 20s Lol.
My DH said that woman are only staring at bags on other woman and nothing else seems to be interesting…
Hahaha. I love ppl watching. I notice pretty much everything one a woman. Some give me good inspiration on how to wear a scarf, new colors that are fun, shoes, jewelry, hairstyle. And I notice women in different age groups too, not just my own age group.

I always enjoy beautiful styling, and new ideas...

Oh back to your original question: I notice a lot of LV, but more vintage than new.
