I went to a fancy wedding recently and so many of the women were wearing LV bags! Way more than other brands, with Saint Laurent bags coming in second place and Chanel bags coming in third place. However, the LV bags I saw were almost all the smaller ones like the Felicie pochette (I think I saw a half dozen of them) and the twist WOC. These were worn by women of a variety of ages but skewing younger, so maybe that does support the theory that small bags are the ones more popular among younger people.

I think a fancy wedding is a different barometer from the every day use! I use my Lululemon belt bag daily, but if I'm going "out" anywhere, I switch to one of my LVs! If I was going to a fancy wedding, I definitely wouldn't be wearing my Lululemon belt bag lol.

I also only own small LV bags now but when I had my Neverfull, I rarely carried that for a date night. I would always switch to my smaller Eva bag for evening wear.

That’s fair! I realize the original post was about daily wear and not special occasion wear. But if an LV is still what many women reach for on a special occasion, I do think that demonstrates that the brand is still very relevant!

I moved to a rural northern California town last year and rarely to never see LV or any designers for that matter around these parts, sadly - when I do it is usually fakes. A cashier at Home Goods told me she liked my bag (Antigua Cabas MM in blue) yesterday and asked me where I got it, I just said "online" which is true...eBay. I didn't want to be like "It's a Vuitton!" lol. Idk, I just don't feel comfortable being very "showy" when I know there are people struggling. I am from Chicago originally tho, where LV is very common.

I live in Germany near a town with very rich people. These people don't wear Louis Vuitton bags except some old bags from the eighties or nineties. I see a lot of young people with LV, a lot of these bags are fakes. My love for LV died over the last 10 years. Not one bag is interesting for me and all in all it is fast fashion for me, far away from that what the brand once was.

I agree. I have mostly seen older/mature women with a classic lately (Speedy, Alma, Noe, also Neverfull and Artsy). Noticed that especially on french(!) women during my past vacation in the south of France. Really surprising… LV above any other brand.

These pieces are usually very well worn and loved, seems like at least 10 years old.
In my eyes that results in a very elegant and timeless style combined with a simple wardrobe. I admire those well loved bags. Love “bag watching” those :girlsigh:

And yes: the newer designs and special edition collections I only see on younger people (maybe under 30).

But in total I don’t see more or less LV/designer than let’s say about 5 years ago- where I live or anywhere else.

I live in Munich, so many people carrying LV or other luxury brand bags. I like it, because I love watching luxury bags in real life.
I actually don't care what other people carry vs. me carrying and I have both luxury and non-luxury bags.
I have to say some of the new trendy things are not mine anyway (no bumbags, no mini or micro bags please, those ugle Jaquemus pieces!!!). However my taste in bags and fashion has not changed much in the last twenty years (my 20-40ties), which is good as I can keep using the things I choose over time for myself...

I rarely going out especially to the Mall lately. My last experience going to the Mall wasn’t pleasant either, you ladies just have to be alert of your surroundings especially if you’re by yourself in the Mall. With so many crime and robbery targeting us a lady with high end bags just making me not using my LV bags if I have to go by myself either to the mall or simply running errands/grocery. My now go to bag is definitely Lululemon belt bag, I have almost 20 of them (yes it’s so addicted collecting them in every colors) but now I have to tell myself to stop buying them.. lol.
I think it’s a quite luxury era now. I only use my LV bag if I go out with dear hubby for dinner. It’s sad but better safe than sorry.

Are you in California? lol

Because that's how I feel, too. I'm in CA, and going out running errands with a large luxury bag makes me feel like a potential target.

So I sold my larger bags and now only have small LV bags, and only use them when going out w/DH or in a group of friends.
