Do you notice less people carrying LV?

Hey I live around the same area and I agree with you. A lot of young people will not wear designer bags. I see so many Lululemons. In other areas, I do see a lot of LV particularly pochette metis and Neverfulls. If you go to high end mall in Troy area, you will see some Chanels, Dior (few), and Hermes (rarely).
Oh, hey, someone from my area! Hi! I have to admit that I have gone blind to the Neverfulls but yes, I do see those. I hadn’t been out to Somerset in Troy for years but recently walked through quickly to pick up some takeout and I was very surprised by the new stores there. (Hermes in Michigan?!) I do see an occasional H, Celine, and Goyard with a Costco shopper on the weekends. If you ever see a guy with a Moreau or Loewe bag with dark hair, say hi lol

Yes there is Hermes and two Chanel and YSL stores in NM and Saks. Dior and Prada are coming soon too!

I see a lot of other designer bags.....but LVs are still well-liked and an "in" thing to this day, I think. After Meghan Trainor's song ("Made You Look") became popular, I have seen more people carry LVs now at the workplace.....I don't know whether or not it's just coincidental though
Haha, that is funny if people feel more motivated to wear LV because of the song. There are actually quite a few songs mentioning Louis Vuiton (or LV), also Saint Laurent, Gucci, Valentino etc. Maybe we should make an LV song playlist. :giggle:

I see the same amount as usual. Not any more or less. If anything I have noticed more unique pieces in the wild. I saw a lady casually shopping with a Since 1854 black jacquard pochette Métis worn cross body. Last month, a Jeff Koons Neverfull on the windowsill of a diner. An epi stripe Cluny(?) from 2016ish was also spotted on a lady chatting on the sidewalk. There was even a vintage vernis Alma MM that I saw recently. Lulu exists but not pervasive.

I will carry what I need to for the task at hand. I have no qualms mixing my jansport belt bag with my Tumi Just In Case with a jumbo Chanel shopping tote or LV keepall if need be. Anyways, I really don’t think my area is trend focused. There is just too many people from different walks of life to identify such trends (international/day students, foreign service, young families, professional, retirees, etc ) It really is a mishmash here. Just my impressions.

I don't really see a lot of designer bags in the wild on a typical day, but I saw a woman in Homegoods last week wearing a special edition floral nano bucket. We were crossing paths, smiled at each other and it was so obvious we were eyeing each other's bags and it led to quite a nice conversation about LV mini bags (I was wearing nano speedy). I usually spot quite a few fake LV unfortunately.

I think music is a great influencer..or social media in general. It's free advertisement after all. Wonder how many times one has "googled something she has heard about or has seen online/tv".....and purchased something because of that as well. I guess one time too many. Hahaha.

You know, I do have to say that I have seen a surprising uptick in the amount of YSL bags I see around here too. It’s not often but even my boyfriend pointed one out the other day.
I rarely see designer bags in my home town... But things have changed in the last two years. Lots of YSL bags now and quite a lot of Marc Jacobs totes too.
No Lululemon belt bags in sight, though….;)

In Hong Kong I still see LV all the time. Also Hermès, Chanel, Goyard, Celine, Loewe, YSL, Gucci, Chloé, Dior, some Balenciaga and BV. I’m probably forgetting some. I see more of these in wealthy areas but even just walking around my neighbourhood (a slowly gentrifying place with a whole mix of businesses and people) I will see some every time I’m out. Also mid-range designers like Coach, Longchamp, MK, Kate Spade.

I can’t recall ever seeing the Lululemon bag but I’ll be watching for it now.

I live in a decent sized city and I see LV. It's a mixture of more affordable brands (Coach, MK, and Tory Burch) and designers (LV, Gucci, and YSL). Honestly, I don't shop at Lululemon so I have no clue what the belt bag looks like. I probably have never noticed it even if it is popular. But at the large mall in my city which carries designer stores, there is ALWAYS people browsing and/or buying in LV and Gucci. Gucci, IMO, has been the bigger surprise with sometimes lines to get in. YSL, Prada, etc.. is not as busy.
