Do you have any weird bag behavior?

Oh man,I have SO many weird bag "tendencies".The first one that comes to mind is when I get a new bag...I first inspect every little inch to make sure it's perfect, I then lay it on my bed, making sure that nothing can transfer onto the bag, and I then continue to stare at it and walk over to pet it. Sometimes I even cuddle with it.

When I'm driving my bag has to be in the front seat where I can see it. I stare at it when I'm sitting at stoplights. If someone is sitting in the front seat, they have to hold my bag.

The other day I was shopping for a baby sling and I tried them out by carrying my bag around the store in them. DH said "I'm surprised you don't have dreams about giving birth to a Coach purse."

LOL Your DH sounds hysterical and strangely understanding!!! (Congrats on your REAL baby btw!!!)

I love to stare at my bag in the passenger seat, too. I also love to glance back at it if it's stuck in the back because someone is in the passenger seat. I have considered calling 'shotgun' in my bag's honor, but I want to maintain some degree of normalcy...

When I first get a new bag, I put all of my "stuff" in the bag right away, and wear it around the house (yes, even if I have no place to go :p).

Of course that includes stopping to see how it looks in every mirror in the house and from every angle! :flowers:

Count me as another one who sniffs and pets her bags!

I'm also paranoid about keeping my bags clean, so I keep a couple of "wet ones" (wipes) in my bag. If I'm eating any kind of messy finger food, I use the wipes before I touch my bag! No greasy finger prints on my babies....

when i first get a bag, i always nose dive into it for a smell of the leather.... :sweatdrop:

I do this EVERY time I switch bags, except for the Tokidokis. They just don't have that smell like a Louis or a Coach or anything else does.

*snnnnnnnnnifffffffffffffff*
OH BABY! That's good!
...I'm not some creepy bag fetishist. I swear.

I always find myself fiddling with the turnlocks on bags. I used to do this when I was really young with my mother's bags. It just keeps me entertained for some reason.

Love this thread!!!

When I got my dream bag, I was so excited I couldn't sleep at nights. So I sneaked up and tip-toed over to the bathroom with my baby and stare at it, sniffed and hugged it. Then I modelled it for awhile before I tip-toed back to my side of the bag. Sometimes I do this several times a night if I am having trouble sleeping. Then during the day if I stay at home with my baby (my other baby), I will take her out and put her on the dining table or anywhere near me so I can admire her more.

:roflmfao::roflmfao::roflmfao:omg I'm dying, that is so hilarious!

Can I just say, yall are nutso :p:nuts: lol I love it!! I don't think I have weird bag behaviors... except for maybe in the bathroom... if there is no purse hook or it just looks dingy, I will bite the straps as I undo my pants and all that until I'm sitting and do the same as I'm standing up. I usually can't put them over my head and would be SUPER embarrassed to get stuck lol so I just bite them; sometimes I hold it in my neck and chin if the leather is softer and will leave teeth impressions. I guess my only other weird thing is that whenever I get a new bag, she is the lucky one that gets to hang from the doorknob that night. I'm pretty careless with where I put my bags in my own house (yep, they can sit on the floor!).

I'm going to analyze my behavior with my bags more closely and I'll report any updates lol.

Who ever sits in the front seat of my has to hold my bag also. When I get a new one I model it on me in the bathroom mirror. I sit it on the bed so whenever I come into the room, I look at for the first time. My bag never sits on the floor of anything public. In our house, we do not wear shoes so my bag may sit on the carpet. Never near liquids or foot. I have a purse hanger for tables. My family makes fun of me b/c I like larger bags. No small or medium ones for me unless it is for an evening out.

I am very purse weird. Wherever I am in my house, my purse is with me. If I am in my bedroom, my bag is near me...in the kitchen...with me....etc. I keep my phone in it and other essentials and use it all day long.
Also I can't have anyone really touching my bag. It makes me anxious and I am always thinking everyone's hands are dirty. My kids know not to even dare touch my bag!

This all sounds normal to me! Unless my bag is one that is dark colored or pebble leather, I will NOT put it on a floor. Also, it has it's own wicker stool in my bedroom in a back corner where nothing can touch it.

I leave it out on the dresser at the foot of my bed and look at it for days before I use it. I like having it in my sight. I think about what out fit it would go with and then I decide to take her for an outing.

i noticed another one of mine, i find myself needing my bag near me all the time. it has to be in the same room or else i get very anxious. i mean, someone could break into my house and make a run for it with my baby!
