Whenever I have a new bag, I don't use it for a few days, or even weeks. Sometimes I would even put them beside me in my bed, just to appreciate its beauty. This is only applicable to bags that I really love. I baby my bags.

I don't put my bags on the floor especially in public areas.

Well sometimes I like to look at all my bags in the same place :O. WhenI go out, I hang my bag under the table at restaurant with purse hanger so it does not touch the floor or take another seat.

I am in the never place my handbag on the ground, or anything that is not a chair, club. I have been known to uncomfortably sit for hours with my bag behind my back, not leaning on it(!), in a chair at dinner. Not on my lap...what if someone puts something down and it splashes on my bag if it's on my lap?!?!?! Also I have to have it on a little bench between my bed and night table when I am home, especially when sleeping.
I don't know if this counts, and am trying to break this habit, but I have certain items that I never use in my bag that are making it hard for me to downsize. I've just always carried them! I rarely, never, touch up my makeup, except for lipstick and maybe powder but I carry a full makeup kit. Also a few other things. Really trying to get rid of this stuff so I can downsize my bags now that my children are grown. Trying to carry my Chanel Jumbo more.

I'm Catholic and for some reason every time I have a new bag I have an inexplicable need to wear it to church first. I even put a dab of holy water inside the bag as soon as I walk in. I don't recall doing it on purpose. Just one day I realized I've always done it and now I'm too chicken to change the routine.

When I buy a new bag I get really excited about how the bag was packed...each strap or handle individually wrapped, plastic sheets over hardware, fully stuffed to hold a perfect shape. I also have to inspect every inch inside and out before I remove the tags. My husband thinks I'm nuts.
