This thread is so much fun! It's interesting to see how we all have different ways of loving on our bags.
One of my weirdnesses is my bags have to be stored on my shelves in rainbow color order. Any other way and they seem "off".

Nope! I'm the total opposite. I HAVE to wear my new bags the day after they come in. When a bag arrives, I immediately dive in my closet to find 3-5 outfits that would be perfect for the bag. And then I usually try to wear all of them over the next couple of weeks so I can enjoy my new baby over and over!!!

YES! THIS! Germs and I are enemies. I absolutely hang my bag around my neck if there is no hook.
And, except for my designated beach bags, which see the ground but still get cleaned EACH time, there is NO way I'm putting my bag on the floor or counter in a bathroom or any other public place. If I have to, I'll keep my bag on my lap or even keep wearing it on my shoulder v ever putting in on the floor. And if it goes in a chair, a napkin goes under it. People don't wear undies so my bag isn't going on that naked chair. I wash my clothes after each wear. It's not as easy to "wash" my bag if I plop it on a germy surface.

The ritual for a new bag arriving is to only open the box in my room, alone. I put my stuff in it and walk around the house with it, passing every mirror in the house.
I always take my bag with me, even to bed. If I have to put it down in the house it goes only into my bedroom.
I like to read my phone with my bag and watch TV with it. I probably touch it too much and smell the leather too much. Sometimes I just like to look at it. I resent people intruding on my personal time with my bag.
All of this is pretty much a secret, because I don't think it's quite totally normal.

I am like this too, with both bags and clothes. If I don't wear it right away, I find I don't wear it at all. It's like something new has to go into the rotation right away, or it never really fits in. How's that for weird?

I love your organization by rainbow, btw -- it must be great for seeing exactly which color will go with which outfit!

She has a pool, so i didn't want it near the pool. I asked her if i could put it in her bedroom. she looked at me funny and asked if she could put it in her kitchen (right by the doors to the backyard/pool). i said, no, i want it in your room. she thought i was nuts and asked why and i said "i don't want people in your kitchen to spill food on it". she said "you are seriously so purse weird"....it got me thinking though....i guess i am:shame:

I cuddle my bags, just love touching them and smelling them. Just this alone makes me a freak in the eyes of my mother and my friends.

HAHA!:lol: I've done this also (twice). I thought I was weird for doing this. So glad I'm not the only one.

Some weird purse habits (probably not considered weird in this forum though):

- takes pictures of my bag
- bag must not touch the floor
- be pissed off whenever someone purposely bang their carts against my bag. It's like use your eyes and watch where you are going.
- whenever I fall down, I check to see if my bag is okay first before worrying about my own possible injury.

Great thread - agree with the insomnia behavior being both a cause and a result of getting bags or searching for bags.

When I get a new bag, if I don't think it's a perfect match for my needs right away, I won't use it till I make a final decision. I probably end up getting rid of too many bags this way since I don't give them a real chance. It's also a problem with online shopping and not trying the bag on in a store. But I can't get to stores that often, and I still enjoy browsing online.

If I am in the car alone & it's really sunny, I will throw a cover over my bag to keep her out of the sun. Today I had my son in the car & he offered to hold my Balenciaga Club, and I declined, then perched her precariously on the middle console. Pretty sure he was a little offended, but I didn't want "essence of 10 year old boy" on my Balenciaga. [emoji12]

I totally obsess over my bags before I get them. I research and take pictures of them on my phone so I can periodically look at them throughout the day. Once I get it I gently place it in my closet because we have to get to know each other before I can introduce her to the world.

Me too! I scour TPF for hours at a time before I buy a bag.

LMAOOOO. My kids hear "DON'T TOUCH MY PURSE" multiple, and I mean MULTIPLE, times per day. :lol::no:

My son just told me it started raining, & I was about to freak out about my Bal getting wet, until I remembered that I have a plastic bag in the pocket specifically for this occurance. [emoji108]
