Do you have any weird bag behavior?

If I see a bag that I want online, it's all I can think about until I get it. If it comes in multiple colors that I like I get them all.

It's a sickness, but once I order them the craving goes away. Until the next bag that catches my eye that is LOL.

I am also very careful with my bags and want them to stay as new and pristine as the day they arrived. I condition and spray my bags all the time.

BigPurseSue, it is dangerous not only to you, but to others on the road if you keep your bag in your lap while driving. I tried that before and the bag got caught under the steering wheel and prevented me from being able to steer. Please reconsider keeping your bag in your lap, not only for your sake, but for all of us out there on the road.

You know you're right and I need a better plan for what to do with my bag in the car. I recently bought a new car and it doesn't have the "bag room" on the front seat that the big old car had.

I'm reluctant to put my bag on the back seat or back floor because I don't want it to become a projectile if I get into an accident. On the other hand if I give it to DH to hold he's going to just put it on the floor and step on it with his muddy sneakers. So I've been scrunching the bag next to me in the seat, sorta seat-belting it in. :wtf:

But you're right, the strap could catch the steering wheel. And even if I'm carrying a little Dooney letter-carrier it's kinda awkward and bulky behind the wheel.

Any suggestions anyone?? If I have groceries I toss the purse in the trunk with them, but if I don't have packages opening the trunk is a pain.

Help!

I place my bag behind me if others aren't in the car (just one reach-back away!) or nestled between my left leg and the door if it's small enough. Just remember it's there when you open up the car door!

My weird bag behavior, to most people outside of this forum anyways, I will NEVER let my bag touch the floor. Regardless of circumstances my bags are never on the ground because my Grandma taught me: "Purse on the floor, never more poor!"

Also, I can't go to sleep at night if I don't bring my purse into my bedroom and either hang it on the door, or set it on the night stand next to me.

Ok, I don't know if anyone else has said this but I have issues with some public restrooms...
Usually there is a hook for your bag. I'm not fond of it but it's better than nothing. And when there is nothing, to avoid it slipping off my shoulder and landing somewhere not so nice, I'll hang it from my neck... :shame: I know it's crazy but the bags are to important to go anywhere near the floor!

O, I just read that!!! This forum is awesome :yahoo:

Hi BigPurseSue, how cordially you replied! I am glad I did not offend you. I have also heard about objects in the car becoming projectiles in an accident. I get so tired of my bag flying off the passenger seat onto the floor and all the contents dumping out all over the place. I really need to buckle her in. If somebody is riding in the passenger seat, I put my bag on in a basket on the floor of the back seat. The basket is right behind my right arm if I turn around so it is easy to access if I have to reach around and get my wallet or the phone (not while driving of course). The basket I use is rectangular, about 12" wide X 14" high X 10" high. I also put things I have to mail, coupons, or small items I need to return in there. Keeps them all together, handy, and safe. Let us know what you do! This is a good thread to start!!

The basket is a great idea! I'm usually ok with just putting my handbag in an empty seat of my car. I also tend to drive more carefully so that I don't have to brake hard and send my handbag flying across my car.

This made me laugh, I can just picture you with bag around your neck:roflmfao: I'll have to try that but Hope I'll be able to get it off, lol

I then have to view myself holding the bag in EVERY mirror of my house to make sure it doesn't look bad from any angle.

I seriously do the same thing too! :shame:

I also like to keep my new bag on my lap when I watch a movie at the theater, because I just don't like the idea of it being on another seat where tons of people have sat on... My bf thinks I'm wierd for doing that hah :P

I actually hang mine on the armrest of the seat between me and my friend. Except for when I saw the Strangers with my friend and his band, he was like "are you seriously putting that there?", so I held it in my lap.

I do smell my leather bags, Coach leather smells SO GOOD. And if the bathroom doesn't have a hook, I'll hang it over the corner of the door, but kind of wedge the straps in so its hard to get out.

I will hold onto bags for months at a time and I am afraid to use them or take the tags off.

I currently have two LAMB Bags and a Burberry that hasn't been used.. because I am afraid to do so...lol
