Do you ever wish for a particular bag because a celebrity has it? Be honest now!

I STILL drool whenever I see thos pics of VB carrying her luscious vintage Ostrich Kelly! And I adore her black Sellier Chevre Kelly but after seeing and carrying FOPDUCKS exact bag I determined that I would have one too!!!!!

These bags are fantastic and hold their own ON their own if we're lucky enough to see them IRL.......sometimes seeing them carried by celebs we admire only adds to the allure.

And I'm a big VB fan......not for nothing but for her ability to live her life in the public eye with grace and style. Sometimes she misses the boat but most times (like that men's suit & hat outfit) she hits the nail straight on the head (don't think she should wear leggings without an overtop but hey, maybe if I didn't have thighs that look like swiss chesse I'd wear mine like that too!!!!! LOL!!!!)

I have to admit lusting after Catherine Zeta-Jones' orange bolide after seeing her carry it. Particularly as she is the celebrity I most resemble these days! I think if it looks good on her then maybe......you get the picture. Honestly though, that is an amazing bag and would look good on anybody

Some of the "tartlets" make me like Hermes less (ie, footballer's women or anyone Hilton including the mother).

I am not a VB fan but I have to admit a grudging respect for her after seeing her on the Stars and Hermes forum. She seems to keep herself out of scandals and has a sense of fun and style. I would never consider her the class act of a Zeta Jones or Paltrow though. I have to admit that seeing them with their Birkins really made me think I was saving for something worth having. When I think of Hermes I think Catherine Deneuve or Grace Kelly.

it is my sense that someone who voices a negative opinion about VB is insulting her. someone who calls that person rude is insulting a tPf member. we don't all have to agree.

Who is to say that VB is not a member......

We don't all have to agree, but all the same, let's just be nice.......

I am not calling any particular person rude, just stating the effect rudeness has on MY opinion of that person who chooses rudeness to express his/her self.

i am just going to say it.

i am in awe of vb. seriously. in awe. the way she manages her husband and children and coordinates them all to match and always looks amazing and somehow keeps him in line- that gorgeous thing him (eh i don't believe that rumor about his affair). and befriending katie? FABULOUS. and not to mention she did all this after being a SPICE GIRL- who were not exactly the pinacle of status or style. i mean, that's pretty awesome in my opinion.

say what you will but count me on team vb.

I used to be easier influenced by stars. Gwyneth Paltrow was my favorite. But now I am finding my own groove and making decisions based on what suits me and my lifestyle/circumstances.

Hearing other peoples opinions about celebrities and WHY they don't like the celebrity carrying said bag or accessory has been very insightful for me. I haven't been offended by member's personal views on this. This entire thread is just supposed to be honest (read the title). Can't we just agree to let people say what they want and if we don't like it or agree, leave it at that? If we keep lecturing each other things will likely escalate.

Like someone else said, yes and no answers would be SO DULL!! :okay:

I think the inherent quality and timeless chic style of every Hermes handbag influences me more than anything. I love that I have the great good fortune to own what I consider the best made handbags (scarves, etc.) in the world, items that are really functional art. That thought alone does it for me.

And knowing they will last a very long time and their integrity and style will stand the test of time provides me with such extreme satisfaction and a sense of well-being when I'm wearing them, that I know the investment is worthwhile, if only for that thought and feeling.

No stars, starlets, ingenue, celebrity, football players wives/mistresses, socialites have influenced me on my Hermes buying decisions.

I make a decision based on what I want, need, preferred, versatility, color, craftsmanships, the history and story behind each bag that I want.

With that In mind...It makes my Hermes purchase more justified and absolutely rewarding

Although....I did see a photo of Celine Dion 50cm Birkin on the floor, widely opened behind her while she's getting her make up done before her "A New Day" concert starts. I thought It was stunning and luxurious!! A nod of approval with a smile came out of me!!

My sentiments exactly. Remember the Golden Rule that our mother's (hopefully) taught us. If you don't have something nice to say, don't say it at all.

thats true to a large degree but the question was a "be honest" question regarding celebrities and the bags and how we FELT. there is a reason for boards like these. if i feel that certain personalities are unlikeable for whatever reason and it (IMO) demeans or degrades something i love then i should be free to comment on it.

This isn't a celebrity blog- it's a purse blog. Commenting on one's character is tres different than commenting on a bag. A yes, I love it, or, a no, I hate it will suffice. What do you say when you see a bag on a member and don't like it? You keep it to yourself! It should be the same protocol. For all we know, VB could be on these forums.

At the hate

I am also shocked at the way you used the word anorexic in a demeaning fashion. Anorexia is a serious disorder affecting millions of people.
