I never desire bags--or anything else--just because a celebrity carries it. One reason is because I just don't really follow celebreties; I don't care about their personal lives at all so unless someone tells me that so-and-so has such-and-such I wouldn't even know. I don't seek that kind of information out. The second reason is because many of the famous people with designer things are carrying those not because they bought them, but because the designer gave it to them to carry for advertising and publicity reasons. I'm too wise to fall prey to the scheme of getting something just because a celebrity has it, but I can see how the temptation might exist for some folk.

Certain styles of bags catch my attention on their own when I see them by the shelf. Either the color and type of leather attract me to examine it in more detail and admire its unique design, quality of material, and workmanship. Seeing a simple, confident and stylish woman carry it and look good on her makes me admire the piece more. I'm usually not amazed by celebrities because they don't usually dress that way daily and are styled by professional stylist. Celebrity status does not equal style IMO. My attention is caught mostly by regular folks who just have a sense of style which translate to their choice of bags and accessories that fit their lifestyle. A good example is when I saw a large Picotin bag being carried over the shoulder by another regular client at H about a week ago. It was in red togo with palladium hardware. I thought the bag looked fabulous and wonderful on her and looked functional as well for her to carry it around daily. From that experience it made me consider a large picotin in my future H purchase.

I'm a guy hence not many male celebs carry H bags and or accessories. The only celebs to do anything for me was Grace kelly, who is my style icon and I wish to echo her flawless and effortless outfits (in a more modern and masculine look of course lol) The only celeb to ever make me lust over H was Kelly Rowland, whom was a partial reason why i got a H belt in gold togo (although I'm waiting for my store to bring it in!!!!) and the main reason i got it was not because of Kelly as such but because i liked how the color looked in contrast to her pant all of which i own. i.e. white linen pant (picks up wite contrast stitching), jeans etc.

I've loved the baby blue color since high school.
And seeing G. Paltrow in a Bj birkin just reinforced my decision getting it. I just think its a gorgeous color irl.
