Yep, in general I find that they run 1/2 a size small. I am a size 10, sometimes 9 1/2, in US sizes. But I wear a 40 1/2 in Chanel. I only wear the flats so I can't speak for the other styles.
Most of my Chanel shoes are ballet flats. I'm a 9 and can usually wear either 39 or 39.5. That said I have narrow feet. However, boots are another story. I usually end up with size 40. There's nothing like trying them on to know what size works best.
I also have wide feet, but mine are much smaller - I'm a 5 1/2 wide (if I can ever find them) or a 6 in U.S. sizes. I checked my Chanel shoes (all flats or sneakers) and they're all 36.5 or 37. I think that's pretty true to size as far as my feet go.
Wow for Dior I have to go a half size up (US Size 8.5 would equal a 38, I wear a 39). So as often the case, but Smooth, pout, and trisha always have to go a full size up?
I have a pair of dress shoes that run true to size and some ballet flats that run true to size. Everything else is either 1/2 or a full size too small for me if I buy my "normal" size...of course post pregnancy now everything is too small
I'm a 38 most of the time.My ballerines are 38 and I find them a bit too small.I should have gone half a size up!I know for sure that 39 is too big for me.
I just tried about five different styles of shoes and boots and they were all a whole size up from mine. I have wide toes and I wear an 8.5 US, I can fit in a 39 but is very narrow for me, the 39.5 is perfect... other than the motorcycle boots, I went to a 40 for those.
Also, I've noticed that if the shoe is a wide cut, such as the Cambon, then the cut is even shorter than for a classic Chanel flat. In that case, I need the 41 1/2.
I recently posed a similar question a couple of weeks ago and the answers were that basically they do not run true to size...or at least their sizes run small to very small.
The problem is that no one is quite sure what the conversion of Ameriocan sizes to European or French sizes is. For example, I'm a 7 1/2 medium American shoe size. I have 2 pair of ballerina flats in Chanel and one style I needed a 38, and the other style a 39! They make a 38 1/2 and it was too small in the 2nd style. So, it definitely depends upon the style of the shoe.
