Interesting post!

When I first started falling in love with LV, I quickly lost interest in other brands that were not at the same level.
I had a "falling out" with COACH when I had a really bad experience with them, and literally vowed never to carry one of their bags again. I gave away all of my purses to my mom and sisters (only kept one coat, its too pretty!)
Soon after I started cutting out my Michael Kors bags with the MK logo all over, just because there were knocks offs EVERYWHERE. I kept my more high end leather MK's and it helps that my initial are actually MK.
Just the other day I realized that I haven't carried an MK bag in almost a year, I have been slowly giving them away but I was hanging on to 3 of my favorites (2 hamilton and a checkered tote that would always get me compliments).

I sold them yesterday, so that no more MK for me.

I did buy a gorgeous Cole Haan tote (black and white all leather), I already love their pumps (shoes) so I think that they might be my next (non LV) brand to follow. I think it will be less likely to see knockoffs of that all over the place.

I will also keep my Burberry bags, and hope to add Chanel and Hermes to my collection one day. For now my passion for LV is DEEP! :) I have a huge collection, and spend wayyyyy too much $, but its true love hehe!

i still buy since those people I mostly mingle with are all into coach, mk or tory burch. I also need some bags that I can use everyday and these days, I have been using a kipling bag my mom gave to me. If people gush about coach or even michael kors, I do too. I never even mention my Lvs to anyone who didnt ask for it. I just dont buy much as I used to but only when I feel like I need it.

I recently culled the heard and got rid of four Coach bags, a Michael Kors bag, two wallets (MK & Tory Burch), and two Coach wristlets. I have a Longchamp Le Pliage Neo tote for work because I need a tote with zipper and having it be water resistant is great since I work in a valley where it rains quite often. I also have a Rebecca Minkoff Julian backpack for travel and theme parks. A weird thing I did was keep the first ever name brand bag I ever bought for myself when I was 18, and its a Vera Bradley small crossbody. Its in rough shape and I'll never use it again but I was so happy the day I bought it.

Other than that it's just 4 Louis Vuitton bags and a Gucci bag. It's nice only having bags I use now.

This is exactly the boat I'm in right now:smile1: I'm getting rid of my less expensive brands to fund my Louis Vuitton love. I gave most of my Coach bags to my mom. I sold my Gucci, Burberry, Kate Spade, and Michael Kors bags. And I don't regret it at all. The resell market for those isn't the best, but it's better than nothing. I kept a couple MK, KS, Marc Jacobs and one Tiffany and Co bags for those situations when using my LV isn't ideal (amusement parks, traveling) I figured its better to get rid of the bags I don't use and use the money toward LV instead.

I sold, donated or gave away my contemporary handbags but I do have one Longchamp bag. I did give my sister my Longchamp backpack, which I regret although I did not carry it. Now all I carry is LV and I am dabbling a little in Gucci (love the Dionysus line). I try to stick to one brand, which is mainly LV at the moment only for the sake of my bank account really. If I didn't put this limitation on myself I would be broke as a joke because I love all handbags in general. Coach has stepped up their game, in my opinion, and I always love going into the store, which I usually have to talk myself out of buying something especially when they are having a sale.

Yes I have a few coach Db and mk left for sentimental reasons but I sold almost everything except one balenciga a long champ and a Brian Atwood bag other wise it's all lv all the time lol. I just feel like there bags for my lifestyle better

After owning high luxe brands like, LV, Hermes,Chanel,YSL etc. did you guys get rid of your less designer like MK,Coach,Tory B? is your collection now exclusive to the high ends? If you have gotten rid of them please tell me if you wish you still have them or do you still get attracted and still buy those brands?

if no please tell me how do you get or find time to use the less designer brands if you already have the luxe? I am asking because. I still do have some pieces of the less designer ones that I do not use but once in a year maybe just because hubby gifted me that and that is the first bag he ever gave me that proves that he listens to what I wanted few years ago but really I only keep it for sentimental value the other ones are just there just because I feel like they were part of my collections but really I haven't touched them in years ever since I got in to LV, Chanel etc.

Still owns contemporary brands, I have a Carven, MBMJ, a Coach that's quite beaten up but I love it even more now, 3 to 4 MK bags that I really love. I tried to sell some of the MK but guess might as well continue wearing them. These bags are on the more practical side and I wear them mostly for work.

It's funny that there is a thread in the Chanel subforum about selling all your LVs in order to fund Chanel . . .

.

YES! There is always someone leaving one brand for another. I sold Hermès and BV to buy more LV, others might prefer Chanel, and others might sell it all for a Goyard... There is not a 'right' way to change your collection... Everyone has a different path!

I never buy coach anymore, however, I still have many of my old ones that I never use and need to sell. A few of them are really cute and/or handy for work, where I have to stuff my bag in a locker, or maybe doing the tourist thing. I have a gorgeous Coach leather purple clutch I cannot let go of, and I still love my Koobas! I have a Botkier or two as well, and I love my Longchamp for traveling or the beach. I am not averse to lower-priced brands, I just don't like those popular brands that knock off high-end designers.

I pass on my Coach purses to relatives and friends :)

I just sold the last of my Coach handbags that I was willing to part with so I have kept a small handful that still have sentimental value to me. Over the past couple of years I sold virtually all of my Coach to fund LVs and while I adore LV now, I still purchase Coach every now and then, either pre-loved or from the boutique. I like to use them for everyday use.

I sold my less-designer items, which mainly considted of Juicy Couture and L.A.M.B. I felt I outgrew them as Im closer to 30 than 20 and the quality of "real" high end bags are stunning, once you owned one, you'll never want anything else ^^
