Did you get rid of your less designer items?

I have kept the following: a longchamp shopping tote, a gerard darel 24h bag, a repetto tote bag, and a few clutches. I feel that premier designer bags may be appropriate at some places and around some specific people, but not everywhere and not around everyone. Some people would react rude and say something nasty about your lifestyle or the way you spend your money. Also, when I go to fancy places such as clubs, where someone could spill over their drinks at me, I prefer to bring a less expensive bag. Another reason why I still have my older bags is that by switching bags, I do not overuse my high end bags. Even SAs recommend to switch bags on a regular basis, in order to let them rest, and to protect them.

I can relate to this. Sometimes it's good to have a low profile bag in certain situations, an example for me was when I would go to an Oakland A's game, I wouldn't want to be flaunting a flashy bag in an area like that. Plus, someone can spill something on it when they walk by you with beer or food.

I didn't have THAT many coach/MK bags, mine were from the outlet though, so I had maybe paid $90-125 for them. I ended up donating one and selling the other at a garage sale. I still have one MK bag because I do like the brown leather.

I did recently buy 2 bags at Coach and MK outlets. I was looking for a small black cross body bag for around $100.

I do have a few LC bags, plus a luggage piece and will likely add another one into the mix. I don't plan on selling these. I like having them for totes because I don't need to worry about banging/scratching/staining them up.

There are also other situations when it comes in handy to carry an under the radar bag (and not wear nice rings), like if you are haggling for something! That's one example that comes to mind! :D

I probably should get rid of my older bags.. They just take up space and never get used..

But I never get around to it.

I always say things like "I'll do it later" or "I wouldn't know how to begin selling them.." There's always a reason.

I have donated a few bags when I moved houses. But most of them are still with me. I think I need to accept that I'm a hoarder. It's not a nice word but I have to come to terms with it. :P

It's okay I'm a mild hoarder. It drives my husband crazy.

Aww, thank you! -hugs-

I like that.. mild bit. "Mild hoarder" is easier to accept than straight-out "hoarder".

My husband doesn't mind, thank goodness. I think it's because I hide stuff well.

When we moved houses he came home to two HUGE boxes of stuff to be donated. He said, wow, good job sorting out things we don't need!! .. .. .. Little does he know that the two boxes of stuff was 98% HIS old clothes) LOL.

Lol I don't hide my items well. He will eventually find my random stashes.

Yes, I gave away all my Coach, Tory Burch, MBMJ bags and carry only LV, mainly because I love LV coated canvas and prints.

My previous bags were all leather--since I don't baby my bags, they always got scuff marks, scratches, etc. I won't ever purchase a leather bag even if luxe. Likewise, if another company produced coated canvas bags in a print I liked, I'd probably buy those bags.

I got rid of all of my mid-level bags. It's crazy! I liked some of those bags, but knowing how much I saved and salivated for the luxe bags, it made the others seem so ho-hum. And no skip-in-my-step when I took them out. I donated and sold.

I do have a couple of the PS1 pouches for travel, less 'showy' places, and I really do love those!

I still keep a few around that can be thrown around a bit more- Longchamp/MK. I live in a rainy climate so for me it's a must!

For a couple of more trendy bags I have a Rebecca Minkoff bucket bag I picked up recently in a sale. Satisfied my urge to be a bit impulsive, but without the LV $$ commitment. But I have not purchased any others in a while, and have downsized considerably in the last year, selling things to go towards my LV fund.

The thing I noticed about having a Chanel/LV addiction is that when I have a nice bag (like a WOC) I tend to reach for that over the five different colored cheap clutches I had. Quality not quantity is my mantra now!

Before jumping into LV's world I only had some MK and Coach. I had given them to family member eversince. Yet, after buying LV, Mulberry, Givenchy or other premier designer, I still buy some MK collection line if the style really suits me. I also have Longchamp, Alexander Wang and Phillip Lim. So it doesnt matter if it is from premier or contemporer designer, as long as I feel comfortable using them I ll keep buying. Its also good to have less high brand if we visit certain places that suit understated accesories/bag.

I started out collection coach. Once I purchased my first LV Alma verni, I stopped using my coach bags and sold them off. I still have 2 that I will sell and a beautiful scarlet colored phoebe still wrapped like it arrived to me. I can't decided whether to sell or keep. I'm a true LV and Chanel girl. Recently I saw a beautiful coach bag and have tried it on several times. My thought is do I spend the money on the coach that I can't get out of my mind that is 30 percent off or do I save it towards my next Chanel or LV piece?

I only had coach and a nice bag from MK's collection line. I won't purchase from him any longer for many reasons. I have sold LV bags that I no longer used or didn't care for. I just don't know about this one coach bag that has been on my mind. I will check it again today and make my decision. It has nothing to do with the brand, but do I really want it or do I want to save the money for a clic bracelet, or towards my next LV item. I just don't know. Help!!!!!!!

Since I started with LV I sold all of my other handbags except one, just in case I need to go somewhere where it might be better not to carry an expensive handbag.

I kept one non LV wallet as a spare and lucky I did because my LV Sarah is in being repaired at the moment :-)

Since I've had my LV I must say I don't really want anything else and selling my other handbags helped fund what I have.

For the most part, I have gotten rid of my non luxe bags. I was just never using them. If I had a choice between a luxe bag and a contemporary brand, luxe would win because with the amount I paid they should be used.

That being said, the bags I use for work are still Coach. I don't feel comfortable taking a lot of my expensive bags to work, so I use the larger Coach bags I already own for work.

I have two Coach bags that I intend to keep: a large City tote in Cobalt that is a great travel bag or when I am going on a day trip and need to take a ton of stuff for me and my kid. I am also keeping my Alpine Moss medium Borough bag. It's a great professional work bag.

As far as my others - I will sell. Kate Spade, Rebecca Minkoff, etc. I have several Marc Jacobs Collection bags that I will also keep because MJ is my first love
