Designer Brands You Will Never Buy

Calvin Klein- I haven't been able to take the brand seriously since "Back to the Future". That was the first time I became aware of logo items as a small child, and it made me realize it was silly to wear something with someone else's name all over it. I still mostly agree.

MK- I see so many MK bags at TJ Maxx, I have to wonder does the company ever sell them anywhere else? I've never seen anyone in my area carrying one. I've seen people carrying Jessica Simpson, for pete's sake, but I've never seen an MK in the wild. Which brings me to...

Jessica Simpson- it feels/ looks like bad quality to me. I'd never buy a bag by Brittney Spears or the Duck Dynasty guys, either.

Lastly, I don't like a lot of common high-end bags. No bags that sell for more than $100 made of cheap materials like coated canvas (I don't care about its supposed longevity; twinkies last forever, too; won't catch me buying those, either) or nylon. No bags that are just blobby puddles of smush when you set them down, regardless of the material. No bags where a company has pretty much just 1 boxy style that they put out year after year in different colors and a couple of different sizes.

You know how once you are aware of something you start seeing it everywhere? Never thought I would see an LV purse in my lifetime, but since working at my retail job at night have seen several pass through. My conclusion is that LV signature items are just garish and scream, "Hey! Look at me!" I feel the same way about any "signature" purses, really. The only purse I have that has signature fabric is a Tommy Hilfiger purse that I got at Goodwill, and I don't take that one out that often because I need to replace the handles on it. (And I own a Coach signature wallet, only because I couldn't find a leather one I liked that matched my purse, but it stays in my purse until I need it)

LV or Hermes. I'd maybe go for a Chanel boy-bag, but that's it.

I'm not a "classy" gal. I like a bit of edge to my bags which is why I love McQueen, Wang, Givenchy, Lim etc. I could buy any Minkoff and be happy.

I also see so many Kors, Coach and fake LV on my commute in the morning that it has forever turned me off. Look so cheaply made as well.

I personally will never in a million years buy a fendi bag for myself. There's just something about them that's a complete turn off for me. They're just not my personal style at all. However there are other people in my life I would buy one for, just because I think it would fit their style more than mine.

As much as I love Louis Vuitton, I don't like the Alma! I don't understand the shape and I don't like how it zips down all the way. Also, I don't understand the Papillon/Bedford. Cylindrical is not my thing.

Other bags I don't understand
Fendi Spy
YSL Muse
All Balenciaga
All Bottega Veneta
Chloe Paddington
Gucci Monogram Canvas with the red and green stripes
Moschino oddly shaped ones (though I do admire them, I would never purchase one)

As for bag brands in general, I will not buy a Calvin Klein, Michael Kors, Kate Spade, Coach, Guess, Dooney and Burke, Betsey Johnson, Jessica Simpson, Alexander Wang, Juicy Couture, Rebecca Minkoff, or Marc Jacobs. That's not to say I will not buy (or own in some cases) clothes from these designers.
I would rather save up $2000 for one bag I really want, then spend, say $800 on an AW Rockie which I'm on the fence about. Aside from Longchamp, contemporary designers really are not my style.

Michael Kors, I would never buy a bag from them. Especially since EVERYBODY, even bums (well you know what I mean) are sporting these bags in my hometown, and I suspect that 80% of them is not even authentic. However, I have to admit I own a chain belt from them, since I wasn't planning on buying a Chanel one regarding my current budget, but I didn't want to buy a flimsy cheap one either and I just couldn't find the right one from other brands ;)

Additionaly, I am not that into the Balenciage Motorcycle as well, and I don't like the Chloe paddington. I don't like 'saggy' bags, I prefer boxy ones :) Just personal.

Even bums? Wow.
