Designer Brands You Will Never Buy

If buying new id never buy Chloe. The price is so high for what you get, and the resale value is so low. No one hardly even bids or buys used unless the price is practically half off or so. I may buy used though.

My big pet peeve is anything made in China. I recently returned a Burberry purchase only because of this. The brands, and price tags, should be associated with quality and workmanship. Somehow I can't get over this.... It feels like I'm just paying for the logo and all the brand history and pride goes out the window when I see the stupid made in China stamp inside...

Anyone else feel the same way?
My burberry too, I bought mine in singapore airport and just realized that when I went back home.
Even so, quality wise its pretty good, maybe bcos my tote used patent leather.

what I dislike is probably LV, i think its overrated and I cant get myself to like coach and longchamp.
and I hate Fake bags the most!! I feel the value of my bag diminish everytime I see someone using the fake one.

This might sound strange, but for some reason I was trying to bring myself to get a Balenciaga bag and I keep carrying them around the boutique but I just can't like the leather at all! On the other hand I truly think that the design is so practical and hip!

-Balenciaga: because I prefer bags with sleek designs and clean lines ..
-Hermes (their Birkin and Kelly): Their bags are stunning in a minimal and beautiful way but they're sort of impractical for everyday use, also the price tag for a leather bag is sort of insane I'd rather buy a piece of jewellery instead, they're made for people with a lot of cash to burn anyway (if you ever see me doing a Birkin reveal know that I won the lottery)
-Anything with monogram plastered all over it! I don't like to look like a walking advertisement. :graucho:

As much I want to say LV but I wont because I do use LV bags and think is classic to my everyday style. But it might say Coach and Gucci (those classy ones with the logos). Its something with the LV's monogram canvas....

I've found a number of bags manufactured in China to be of high quality from smaller lines (Harlex, Artemis). Hand-sewn, well put together, nice leathers, etc. I have very well made Coach and Reed Krakoff bags as well.

My problem with it though is the price point as compared to the labor cost. In Europe, the work costs more whereas it's cheap in many Asian countries. Seeing premier designers like Prada, Burberry, and Mulberry manufacture in China while raising their prices is absurd to me. That they are just increasing their profit margin by lowering labor costs isn't acceptable.

Contemporary lines at lower price points manufactured in China (Michael Kors, Kate Spade, Rebecca Minkoff, Coach, Tory Burch, to name a few) make more sense and I'll still buy them if I like the item, but I can't justify spending $2500 on a bag where the person/people who made it will take years, maybe decades, to earn that much.

Like a lot of you have mentioned, I hate bags with logos everywhere like LV Speedy and Gucci Boston.

I don't get the fuss about Balenciaga either! And my biggest hate right now are the Michael Kors Selma bags...
