Hello everyone

Lots of excitement in the Dawn Household… we’ve been going through extensive spring cleaning, room by room reorganising all our spaces, decluttering, installing new tech of various kinds (Mr Dawn loves gadgets!) Everything is looking pretty good

But we’ve also been looking at new houses and thinking about whether we can find a bigger house. It would be nice to have more space to spread out in, so we’re looking at houses. Saw two this weekend, and we’re thinking seriously about offering on one of them, so exciting times

Between all the house stuff and work being as busy as ever, I don’t have enough time to shop for pretty things

Here is one piece that arrived in the mail yesterday. New LV stationery, a medium agenda. It joins my desk agenda, and my LV briefcase that Mr Dawn gave me a few years ago My LV briefcase hangs very nicely at the side of my (new) standing desk—see, the spring clean is all about the gadgets

Hi Miss Dawn . Can’t believe I missed your recent posts but am glad to be caught up now. How exciting that you are looking for a bigger house — good luck with all of that and have fun with the whole process . We will need to see pics of your new garden, etc, once you are settled. Congrats on all your new goodies — the agendas, the Celine and Gucci. I am especially envious of the gorgeous Celine Box!! You are so lucky to have found one at the outlet and in black too! I have fallen for the Celine Triomphe Bag but it is frankly above my budget and I am on a semi-permanent bag ban . Interestingly, right before I went on ban island, I tried on the mini and small Manhanttan bag at YSL and I thought of you . Beautiful bag but sizing/function doesn’t work for me.

I want to congratulate you on your big industry award — it must be rewarding to be recognized by your industry in such a significant way. Very happy to hear this great news

And finally, Mr Dawn is so sweet to want to buy you a bag. You are very lucky to have a DH who is so supportive of your love of handbag . He is truly one of a kind .

I just saw your beautiful mini speedy with the pearl bag charm on the LV in action thread, and it’s soooo pretty. It makes it worthwhile that you’re on a temporary (not semi permanent ) ban

Thank you for the congrats on the industry award and on my new purchases! I haven’t actually carried my new Celine yet. I love the look of it, but I’ve been enjoying my blue Dionysus that I’ve been carrying every day for more than a month!

Were you tempted by the Manhattan? It’s so funny that it made you think of me, as if I’m an influencer

So we did put in an offer for the new house but it’s a very long process,
lots of surveys etc to be done, so it’s 50/50 whether we’ll actually end up buying it in the end! And it’s so bittersweet because we’d love to have a bigger place but we love our current house too! So we’re just reminding ourselves how lucky and fortunate we are to have choices

Nothing like the discipline of looking at your finances for buying a house to reduce your appetite to spend frivolously on bags in the meantime

We do however have a very big holiday coming up to Mauritius, which we booked a long time ago and are very much looking forward to it!!

Baby Dawn is getting very big! She’s nearly 4 now and will go to school in September!

Today we have been solemnly travelling up and down London in double decker buses because that’s what she wanted to do (and we spend a lot of time doing things that Mam’zelle wants to do )

She then ran up and down the pavements in touristy areas, ran into Somerset House with Mr Dawn and me running after her (she makes us so undignified ) and by coincidence we ran into my friend H with her family. Baby Dawn stood at the gates of Somerset House yelling “Yoda Auntieeeeeee” (my friend H’s nickname is Yoda ) She then proceeded to tell my friend H and her family that “Mama is very bossy” because I dared to ask her to stop running for a moment… I totally owned it, “yes, yes darling, Mama is very bossy “

Then Baby Dawn wanted to see dinosaurs so we’ve been at the Natural History Museum.

It’s been a lovely day Sitting down to eat now and it’s a lovely sunny evening.

Wow, Baby Dawn is a little person now!! Sounds like all your adventures with her are so fun and active. She is lucky to have such a wonderful “bossy” Mama and Daddy . Thanks for the beautiful collage (have not seen this puzzle style before — I like it). Auntie Yoda!! . We love Baby Yoda (and all things Star Wars) here

How exciting you have an offer in on that house. Indeed, buying a house is such an all encompassing experience! And for many, they also have to sell or rent out their current place. So lots of work. Good luck with all that and keep us posted .

The Manhattan bag was very elegant indeed (very you ). I was away on a short road trip recently and was shopping at a lovely shopping Mall in the area. I went into YSL to try on the all black Lou camera bag (I somehow told myself that I might want a black bag with black hardware, despite all the common sense about chipping black hardware). And since I was there, I thought I might as well try on Miss Dawn’s (future) bag

Thanks for the LVoe for my pink Speedy 20. I just got it last month and it was my second outing with her. I love pink (maybe too much ) and thought it belonged in my collection. I am probably on a permanent bag ban (I say that often but may actually mean it this time )

Anyways, always so good to get your updates and to hear the Dawn family is doing well . Have a wonderful vacation and hope to see some pics later

Waiting for Mr Dawn to get home with some groceries I need for my bolognese… very much in the mood for bolognese tonight

So as I wait in the kitchen for a few minutes, as he’s getting home with the next ingredient I need, I’m looking around and thinking I should photograph my Celine box bag that has just come home from its first outing

I had a lovely day yesterday visiting the Chelsea flower show with a friend. Pictures, including a massive bouquet that I bought at the end of the day!

It’s a bank holiday weekend so another day off tomorrow for us

Ps. In case any of my eagle eyed friends notice, these are actually 2 different bouquets—I prepare them in the kitchen and then move them, so the bigger bouquet from the flower show has been moved to the lounge now. I hope it will last about 2 weeks

Celine Box is one of the bags I used to own that I really regret reselling. Had I know what Celine would become once Phoebe Philo left, I don’t think I ever would have done it
