Lovely photos!
Celine Box is one of the bags I used to own that I really regret reselling. Had I know what Celine would become once Phoebe Philo left, I don’t think I ever would have done it :girlsigh:
It is a lovely bag! Not massively practical in terms of the opening and closing mechanism, but it’s so pretty I forgive it for the inconvenience

Hello everyone!

So shortly after my last updates at the end of May, I had some life ups and downs. My Dad was unwell so I needed to fly out and see him at no notice at all. I basically found out in the morning, just told everyone at work I’d leave the next morning and I went. That was at the beginning of June and thankfully he’s much better now.

It was pretty stressful as the night after I got back, Mr Dawn, Baby Dawn and I flew out to our long-booked holiday to Mauritius. That was a relief and a really lovely holiday after all the stresses. A collage of some of the beautiful relaxing scenery is attachedIMG_3701.jpeg

It’s been a really intense period since then and I’m exhausted. I wonder if it’s burnout or just the revaluation of life that follows when you worry about your loved ones’ mortality.

We’ve been going through a lot of paperwork and survey processes etc for the house we’re buying, as well as in registering Baby Dawn for her new house, while also turning our own house upside down for painting/decluttering in anticipation of selling it in the autumn, when we’re hoping to move. Fingers crossed! But being that busy on the home front together with our intense jobs and a 4-year old is just very very busy indeed

I’ve been feeling a certain fatigue and fed-up-ness at work. I’ve been at my current organisation for 15 years—it was my first full time job out of university. My friends who have been reading this thread for a while will know how important work is to me, and I just keep feeling like I have bought into a vision of green pastures where the leaders of the firm have told me for many years that they see my role as a future leader, on the board, but when I now ask for any clarity about how to achieve that, I get a string of non-directive words about how I need to be bigger and make others bigger. It’s hard to translate all the words that come at me into development gaps and to see anything that I can influence in terms of my outcomes—I basically have to wait till I’m seen as ready, or leave! In the meantime though, I do know that I’m valued—I’m paid a lot, so I do feel that the board put their “money where their mouth is”, they just need to see more from me and I need to do my time. I expect there’s also an age dimension to it. Almost all of the board is in their 50s, so at the ripe old age of 38 (I turned 38 this week!), I tell myself I can afford to keep getting experience and growing, even if I don’t know how I’m supposed to grow and become a magical shiny new person :confused1::lol:

Talking about becoming a magical shiny new person, I have acquired the grand old age of 38

Now that I can’t delude myself that 37 is closer to 35 than 40, so I am arguably mid-30s… because 38 is closer to 40 and I am unambiguously late 30s, it is time to accept my oldness

Much celebration and commemoration of my oldness has taken place.
- last weekend, Mr Dawn and I went out without Baby Dawn for breakfast, a little bit of book shopping (pic attached!), and a Virtual Reality exhibition of Egypt, which was fantastic
- I received lots of lovely presents from friends and family (lots of pictures). In particular, I was very touched by the surprise orchid that arrived from a friend in the mail, and a box of surprise Dior makeup goodies from another friend!
- Mr Dawn bought me a Jane Austen Montblanc pen and I bought its pen case with a gift card from a friend  Mr Dawn also gave me a By the Pool LV notebook (love!)
- We went to dinner and theatre on the night of my birthday itself, and saw a musical, Kiss me Kate, which was so much fun!

I spent the golden hours before sunset taking lots of pictures! IMG_3705.jpegIMG_3711.jpegIMG_3718.jpegIMG_3712.jpegIMG_3735.jpegIMG_3745.jpegIMG_3703.jpegIMG_3590.jpeg

Hi Miss Dawn — always great to get your update :). Sorry to hear your Dad was ill but am glad he is doing better now. I hear you on reevaluating life in light of loved ones’ health situations. Unfortunately, it is an inevitable part of getting old (in your case, getting a little older but definitely not old :)). Happy Birthday Miss Dawn!! 🎉 You are still a young one so please don’t be too worried about “getting old” just yet.

I am glad you were able to have a lovely holiday — thanks for the pretty collage. Also so fun to see all the birthday presents you received — you have such sweet friends and family members with great taste. I am especially fond of the BTP notebook — I am in love with that blue BTP colorway but have not bought anything from the collection though (trying to be good this year ).

Good luck with all the house stuff! It’s both exciting and exhausting but in the end, it will be all worth it :)

Finally, I am sure all will work out at your job and you will figure out what you need to do in the coming years. You always come through beautifully at work and for your company. They are lucky to have a massive talent like you :).

Wishing you a great summer :)

Thank you, dearest Iam!

Your supportive words about my work ups and downs mean a lot to me xx

And you should absolutely get something in the blue colourway for the BTP. Soooooo pretty. And think how nice blue and pink look together… with all your pretty rose ballerine LV accents, you need more blue!!

(If I had space in my bag wardrobe, I would get the blue speedy in this season’s BTP. But because I have no space, I need to buy the new house before I can buy new bags…)

Thank you dear @tealocean

Indeed I know you liked seeing the pen

I hope all is well with you and yours xx
  🤗 So fun you guessed that one! I am impressed! ;) I will elaborate later, but there was lots of oohing and ahhing and admiring your beauties. The pearl necklace is so lovely! Enjoy your treasures! I can't wait to hear about your new home, and I hope all goes smoothly at work. You are doing so much, and it is understandable you want concrete answers about your future there or elsewhere.
