Damaged goods from Shopbop

Okay . . . I do love the stock at Shop bop and can't really see my way to NOT shopping there, although I have been thinking a lot about it. Part of me is worried that I'm going to be branded a difficult customer. But honestly. I want to write a pretty lengthy complaint.

Out of the three items I requested replacements for.
- One has an off-center design. This isn't their fault obviously, but I'm not happy.
- The cashmere scarf has a snag already.
- The third item went out of stock after two weeks of waiting for the exchange to be processed, so they sent me a note that the item would not be included in my exchange. Then the next day, the item is back in stock in my size so HM, I guess you decided the defect (stretched-out leather) is not a big deal and your customers will still want to pay upwards of $300 for a crappy glove?

I also added an item to my exchange request after speaking with a rep who told me the original discount would be applied to any exchange items. Well, it wasn't. I realize not all stores would offer the discount, but it just bugs me they said one thing and did another.

oh gosh, i just placed an order with shopbop for a MBMJ bag before i saw this thread!

i found it weird when the order email they sent me was simply a blank mail, but now i am crossing my fingers that the bag will arrive in good condition!

I order from there like almost every week... I've never had any issue there. They r great as they have free shipping and I get it like 2 days after placing order!
I'm waiting for a theory coat as we speak!

^^ I've had only one problem before, which they were great with. But certainly seems like a bad luck streak for me. They seem kinda p.o.ed that I'm complaining. Because I received craptastic merchandise . . .

Their processing has been really slow lately. Same thing happened to me. My last return, it took about 2 weeks after they processed it for it to show up on my statement. I talked to CS and they said it usually takes up to 10 days.
I agree their processing is really slow. I ended up receiving the second refund which was for a return but not the first one which was a further discount on damaged goods!
Honestly I don't think I will.

Anyway.... having said that I like shopbop and will still shop from them.. but I understand your frustration Plain Jane doe..Hope your shopbop luck straightens out :smile1:

I order from ShopBop a lot too. I've been lucky so far, but I was freaked out when I ordered a jacket from them and they used a UPS mailpac, you know those small plastic bag things and it was all banged up. I had ordered a SWORD leather jacket that was $800 and they has smooshed it into a plastic bag? !! I think for certain items they need to "splurge" and use a box/

Thanks :smile1: I hope they give you your refund, too! Maybe you can call or get them on chat? I think they deal with things a little quicker if you can get them live.

Same for their Mike & Chris, although it didn't damage the leather. It's funny, though, I bought a couple of their "Designer Boutique" items which automatically come gift boxed, and it's just an extra giant box with a teeny piece of tissue paper wrapped around the middle of the outside. In one case the gift box puts the whole package into the oversized shipping category, so I cynically wonder if this is just to discourage people from making returns!

I have emailed them a few times and got the same reply. My card was refunded about a month ago. I even called my bank.. Nothing :wondering
It is "only" $33 so i guess I ll let it slip..
I placed another order today using the 15% off.. nothing exciting just some lounging around pants....I hate it when I NEED clothes cos then I don't have money to buy pretty things that I don't need!! :D Hoping that I won't have to return anything

i recieved my first order from shopbop. they were pretty fast actually. i ordered on the 21st and got my item on the 24th (international shipping).

very happy with my purchase and most likely will purchase from them again (free international shipping!)

Well, I have to say that I too am an avid shopbop shopper. Having said that, last winter I placed an order for some juicy couture snow boots that had been out of stock and popped up in a size 9, I knew where one size to big. But, I figured I could double up the socks and make them work. I waited for my package and when it arrived I opened up the box and found that they had sent me someone else's order. I was livid!!!! I contacted CS and they promptly emailed me a return label and had fedex pick up the package. So, I waited an additional week for my package to arrive, I was fortunate that the person who had received my package was honest and also contacted CS. I opened up my package and when I tried on the snowboots and they fit perfectly...I checked the shoe box and it read "Size 9" I checked the inside of the boot and it read "Size 8" (which is the size I needed) :yahoo:
In the end, I got my size 8 snowboots that I absolutely love...BUT, it just proves that shopbop just accepts returns without checking the condition of the item.

Recap & Conclusion

Order 1 - Received three damaged items (cashmere, crystal detailed, and leather). The cashmere had lots of discolored spots, crystals were falling off, leather was crushed/stretched. Sent them back.

Order 2 - I tried to exchange all of Order 1, but they had sold out of the leather glove after taking two weeks to process the exchange. Next day my glove goes back up on the site. The exchange items come back with a big snag in the cashmere and a very off-center crystal design. Sent them back and placed a new order rather than waiting.

Order 3 - I ordered TWO of each of the items. One cashmere scarf arrives with more light spots plus a spot of glue or goo or something, while the other one has a very minor snag. One of the crystal designs is so off it really doesn't look like what it's supposed to, and the other is fine but there are strands of glue hanging off all the crystals.

I called Shop bop and asked them whether they would give a partial refund if I were to keep the better items. The CS rep told me no, since I've seen the same problem repeatedly in the items that's just the way they are. (Okay, I accept that it's the manufacturers' problem, but these are goods Shop bop chose to sell.) The girl also told me that "it's the nature of cashmere" to snag, and that crystals are bound to fall off anyway, so those are not cases where they can offer a discount. (Okay, I accept that these things are true; I also accept that it is the nature of everything to get dirty and wear out but I do not buy them that way.)

Anyway, since I liked the items enough to buy them four times, I am keeping one set and sending back the other with a return label, and that's that. I still love everything on Shop bop, but I am happy to be done dealing with them for a while!
