Damaged goods from Shopbop

I've grown increasingly disappointed with Shopbop's CS as well. I've spent thousands and thousands of dollars with them a year, for probably the past 5-6 years. Whether it be their lack of coupon codes (and when they finally have one it's for 15% off. 15%!), to their price adjustment policy (I bought $600 worth of stuff a few days before the 15% off code came out. In years past they would have easily refunded the 15%. This year, they first told me they weren't applying it to ANY previous orders. When I found out that they had, they told me that they decided to apply it only to people who purchased within 24 hours of the code coming out. Okaaay. Additionally, in years past they did price adjustments for sales within 14 days), to their turnaround time with returns (on their website they say 5 business days from receipt of the item. I regularly have to e-mail them when it's been 5 business days since the item was delivered, and their excuse is always "we're experiencing an unusually high volume of returns." This has happened with the last FIVE returns - BS. If they're going to have a 7-10 business day turnaround time just say that.) Finally, I've gotten so sick of seeing that they've e-mailed coupon codes to random people - I've never received one of these in almost SIX YEARS! Way to show you don't value my business.

It makes me sad because Shopbop used to be one of my favorite shopping websites

Bosco what they're telling you is a complete lie! I e-mailed them about something I bought 2 days before the sale and they said they will refund the money to my account since it hadn't been more than 7 days. This happened last week! They are lying to you!

OMG! I just received Joie boots as well. I paid FULL price and they arrived with scuffs on the sole and scratches on the leather. Someone definitely tried them on and walked a bit before sending them back. I mean I paid almost $400 for them! I'l calling them right away...

They were quick to offer a full refund for me since it was final sale... but they didn't offer free return shipping. I had to request it through a second live chat session. They should be paying for your return shipping.

I placed an order with shopbop late last year and one of the items (a juicy sweater) had a hole in the sleeve. We had a family death around the same time, so with everything going on, I never bothered to return it. I recently let them know what happened so they could make a note and inform their vendor, but now (with this thread), i'm wondering if it was an item that had previously been returned....

Hmm... not sure I'll be doing any more shopping with this site.

I was on vacation last week and I ordered a pair of boots from Shopbop that I just stuffed in my suitcase without trying on. When I arrived and opened my suitcase, my boots were not a size 9 but a size 6!
I don't know why these things keep happening to me : (

Wow, that is not even close. I guess somebody read your order upside down?? Hope they fix it for you soon. I did venture another order when they had the Black Friday code, and it looks okay so far, I haven't had time to inspect closely.

Ugh this is terrible to hear! What is going on with all these online stores these days? I have spent thousands of dollars too at shopbop, thousands! And have only returned one item. I think the bigger these companies get they loose sight of customer service virtues which they had when they started out. Shop bop is so biggest site of their kind so I guess they don't really care if they loose customers because their volume is so great. But who knows. I feel if you can please a customer that has spent as much money as OP and other posters here they will have us for life because it shows they value our business. Shopbop isn't the only gig in town anymore so they need to get off their high horse.

I received a shirt that was on sale (last one in stock), and it didn't have any tags. It also had a couple of hairs on the inside collar. I'm sure it was a returned item, but I'm wondering if someone took off the tags and wore it for a bit. Are all the clothes at Shopbop supposed to have tags on them? I only ordered shoes before (which I had no problem with). I think I'll keep the shirt anyway because I really like it and it was a good price. It otherwise looks like it's in good condition, and I did a sniff test :yucky: and it still had that new clothing smell. I think I'll just wash it before wearing - it's not worth returning considering the price I bought it at.

On a positive note, my first post! :smile1:

I purchased a pair of shoes from them about a month ago to find out they were scuffed. Since they were 50% off they offered me a bit of a better discount to keep them. I ended up sending them back (they covered return shipping) - but I saw them on the website again for 70% off final sale. No where was it disclosed that it was scuffed!

Welcome to tPF!

I can't recall receiving anything from Shopbop without tags. You could ask them and see if they would offer you a discount since it is untagged and worn.

snowbrdgrl, I have seen them do the same with my returns.

Thanks!

I think I will ask - thanks for the suggestion. They probably send out these type of items again hoping that people won't return them because they're on sale.

Ive ordered stuff from tehre for years, but nothing recently. Makes me worried about going back though, which is too bad, seeing they always have some yummie goodies there...
