Not to sound negative (and maybe my experience was a one-off) but I was not that impressed with the Laurel bag I purchased. I wish I had saved that money and applied it to an MM bag. The stitching was crooked in a few areas. The magnet closure was not strong enough to keep the bag together. Also, I asked for a center zip compartment to be added and it seemed like she sewed the interior inside out because the center zip compartment sort of flopped to the side of the bag since it was too wide. It was impossible to open one-handed. I'm used to Marco's nice taut center zip compartments so this kind of threw me for a loop.

Since everyone else seems to love her bags, I'm wondering if this was just a fluke. I'll also take responsibility for asking for the center zip compartment as that construction method doesn't seem to be something she normally does.

I have a lot of Laurel’s bags. She uses a wide variety of leathers- different textures and weight. Overall, she uses high quality leathers. Laurel is amazing to work with. She is extremely responsive and service oriented.
Laurel has a lot of styles and customization is her specialty. She does really good work and her bags are well made.

Creating brand new styles/designs, merging your favorite features from other bags, is also an amazing talent of hers. I wanted the handles of this bag and the lock closure from that and the side zips from her expandable tote and etc etc etc and she blended all these random design elements into an amazing luxe tote that I adore. I can't say that her bags look any less well made than MM. And the customization options are infinite whereas with MM there are only a handful of choices you can make, and every one has a surcharge attached. Not so with Laurel.

Mleleigh- I had the same feeling you did. I ordered a bag, and it wasn’t exactly what it was supposed to be. Also she sent the wrong strap and couldn’t get the right one. It looked like it was made to last, but not really what I was looking for. She is nice and responsive tho. I wouldn’t order from her again.

@mleleigh , @lenie , @HopelessBagGirl , @Missaggie - thank you all for honest and comprehensive feedback! I suspect since I am not looking for a "from scratch" design and I like the bag in the photos as is, with little modifications (just change leather color, add a small pocket kind of thing), I might end up being on the happier side :). But first I need to grow that money tree and then harvest some money from it..
