Comparing leather by Year and Season (best, worst, characteristics)

i hv a sahara city from aloha rag and the leather is dry and very crackly. but it's improved with use. i hv not moisturised it or anything but i live in very humid weather so maybe that helps? as compared to living in cold weather...

like sammy_girl, i live in very humid weather & my sahara SGH day seems to be breaking in nicely. when i got her, she was dryish but is now nicely soft & not dryish after 2 weeks of use.

My Sahara SGH Work arrived matte but not dry/crackly, she broke in after about 3-4 weeks daily use, and now is so glazed, and soft, and smooshes into herself when set down on the floor/table!

my sahara first came to me a bit dry and slightly crackly at the bottom. i conditioned her 3 times and has shown considerable improvement.

i've touched a sahara Twiggy at the printemps shop, the leather was very thin and shiny but not dry. if you don't like this one, ask for an exchange.

I thought my Sahara leather was a bit dry when I first got it. However, with use, it gets softer and I love it!

im worried about this! i am looking at 2 on ebay right now & 1 looks like it might be dry. how about the weight? someone said the saharas feel lighter; does this mean that the leather is not of as good quality as from other seasons (im thinking of '05)? i hope not!!

I have a sahara GSH part-time. The leather is smooshy, but thin in places. It's in no way dry.

My Sahara RH day isn't dry at all, and not thin either. It's worn in beautifully into the softest leather.

Pinkboudoir, just back from 10 days in your neck of the woods and I know exactly what you mean about the humid weather helping with breaking in the leather. My black courier has lost all its stiffness and is the softest bag now that just drapes and droops. Nice.

Let's say, I am holding on to my dear 04 Lilac because the leather is one of the best amongst my other bags (including the infamous 05)

At first my city seemed like that a little but with just a little use it warmed right up and now is becoming wonderful!! I love the color so much and the leather is beautiful and getting better and better. Maybe give it a little use and time.
