All the 06s I've seen have had great leather esp blueberry, lilac, cognac and cornflower. Most of my HGs are from 2006 IMO this year had the best leather and colour selection available!

I used to have an 06 Cognac city, and it had one of the best leathers on any of my bags from any year, PERIOD! How i miss that scrumptious bag :cry:. Here it is pictured next to my 06 Ink City, also another best leather specimen. Don't feel bad about your 06 leather. Some of the best leather I've seen came out of 06. The problem with 06 leather was consistency, not that it was all inferior.

I have two 06 bags, an emerald and a cognac day (thank you Colleen V. !
) and also a chewy leather plomb 07 and I like the 06 leather best because it is so different to any other leather I have seen.... soft, silky, distressed but strong

to everyonei was just curious about what you guys think about variation of ur balenciaga bags across different years.
i only have 06 and 07. Is 08's leather any good? i m thinking of getting a work but i'd prefer longer handles as the 08 work has. but not sure abt the softness of leather.

get to own a classic Black First, the one that I'm aiming for is from AR, however, the bag is from the f/w 07 collection.
I've done a forum search and a fellow TPFer had also mentioned that the Black RH Cities from the same batch are prone to fade.
Can anyone with a Black First from the 07 F/W collection let me know if their bags suffer from the same fading problem, or let me know too if they're tremendously happy with their bags?

softest leather... perfect distressing... I think F/W 07 had the best leather (I'm totally biased) Mine hasn't faded, I have only had it a month or so though. (used it everyday)

I have a black day from F/W 07 and it's a very dark, saturated black. No fading issues at all so far. The leather is super soft and moderately distressed. Perfect. Ask them what the leather is like on the bag you're looking at and if you're satisfied, go for it.
^thanks, I'm not getting a black first after all, the batch's leather is not jet black, which is my no. 1 priority. Guess I have to wait for the next batch to come in. Sigh. 
I re-decided and ordered the bag from AR after I chatted with the helpful SA. The bag arrived and I love love love it!
Yes, the leather is not jet black, but still, quite black (it didn't turn out dark grey, I was afraid of that). The leather is soft and smooth, not dry At All, and the veining and distressing was even and gorgeous!
^you're right, every bag is different, have learnt not to judge a bag based on the season it's from.
