I agree 100%... I hadn't really considered getting a black bag until this season... but something about this season just says "Go for it!" :smile1:

I also love the leather on the GH bags... but I just can't seem to work them into my lifestyle - so for now, I am sticking with RH.

I agree also! :p However, I would rate the leather on my Cinnamon even above my Sandstone (that is closest to in terms of characteristics, Marine & Aqua weren't as soft), which gives me high hopes for F/W - but I definately agree that it might not be consistent across the board as far as F/W goes. I wasn't able to go to the trunk show, so you've got the inside scoop there.

I've got high hopes for the colors I'm interested in (Black, Tomato, Plomb)... however, I haven't really been paying as much attention to the other ones - so that is a very definate possibility. I guess I was speaking more in terms of just a black bag. (See, this is why I put *ducks*... LOL :smile1:)

True, true, true! :tup: And just because my Cinnamon has yummy leather that I would rate higher (to my personal preferences) then the SS bags I had acquired, doesn't mean that other colors from F/W would be the same. Also, its all about personal preferences that makes the world go round - so just because I prefer one leather, doesn't mean that everyone is going to. :graucho:

Leather varies within season, as well as from season to season. Personally, I think it's very hard to generalize and say that all leathers from one season are better than another. I had a BI City from 06 (one of the most maligned years for leather) and it had the BEST, softest, smoothest leather of all 9 of my B-bags (from 2004 through 2007). Then again, I also saw a few BI bags that had horribly dry and crackly leather. If I were you, I'd wait to see and touch a F/W 07 bag before returning the one you have. Every bag can be so different!

Okay...just this second received my Tomato Day with GianT Gold Hardware. Taking off for weekend in about 5 min., so really glad to see Mr. Fedex. HAVE to say...this leather is simply the best I've seen/felt yet. Thick....THICK, THICK, THICK. SMMMOOOOOSSSHY. Honest-to-God, the best yet. Having said that, the jury is still out on Tomato. I LOVE RED....my fave to-date is the '04 True Red. Like Vermillion too. Thought I'd ADORE the tomato. Hmmmm....have to wait 'til I can stare a bit more...but right now...

Now...NO veins whatsoever (I actually like veins...)...no crinkles whatsoever. Thick, soft and well..again...SUPER smooshable. I will say that I'm not altogether sure this veinless leather has quite the same character as others. Bottom line...incredible QUALITY leather. Just not sure about other aspects. Will post pics with True Red as a comparison on Sunday night or Monday. But stand-by for FANTASTIC leather!

You know what?? Was just mauling leather again...it's SO thick, I just checked to make sure it wasn't just an extra thick lining. I mean, this is STUPID thick. Now, just have to fall in love with the tomato...

I have to agree with you, Maggie, the leather I've seen on the FW 07 crop is the best so far! Impossibly thick, chewy, soft, no veininess. And we haven't even seen yet how it will look with wear, and I bet it'll will look even better.:yes:

Can't wait to see pics. I LOVE the tomato color.

The leather sounds like it feels awesome... I'm a fan of veins and wrinkles, though... so I wonder if all the f/w bags are super smooth or if there's some with crinkles.

I saw a Tomato First today and it was super veiny- much like most of the Bleu Glacier bags we saw earlier this year. I really liked the colour too!

yes yes yes!! the leather is soo thick!! even the SAs think so!!
i just bought a black city today....and even the tassels are thick thick thick!!!
mine has some crinkles and wrinkles though!

I have a question. Is it thick and light or thick but heavier too. I found many of the f/w '06's thick but noticeably heavier where the '05's are thick, smooshy, almost spongy but super lightweight.
