I'm a fresh graduate from boston, and uni there is super expensive. Worked full-time, and school full-time. my parent's didnt pay for anything, so i had tons of expenses. I basically put little bits aside and combined it with birthday money and selling some of my paintings.
to date:
1 bal city
1 jimmy choo parker
and one bag my mom bought me when she visited a leather factory in florence italy.

Extremely small collection, but i'm proud of it!!

im two years out of undergrad, but still in school for two more years. i worked during my four years of undergrad (~20/wk, 50+ in summer/ TA my last year). i have managed to save over the years, and have:
bal tempete sgh pt
bal anthra rggh pt
castagna rggh pt
aquamarine rh city
chanel black caviar woc
chanel black caviar jumbo
now its a trading game... what do i want to sell in order to buy my next. actually loving them all right now :)

Off the top of my head...

Louis Vuitton damier Neverfull MM
Louis Vuitton Zippy Wallet in red epi
Louis Vuitton monogram key pouch
Louis Vuitton monogram Speedy 30
Louis Vuitton Wilshire PM in bleu infini
Burberry Leather Asbury satchel
Marc Jacobs pink leather tote (don't recall the style)
Marc Jacobs black leather Stam
Gucci clutch
Tory Burch leather and chain clutch
Longchamp totes for the beach and duffles for quick trips

I also have over 20 pairs of Tory Burch revas and some of her other shoes, Christian Louboutins, Prada heels, Burberry flats, etc.

I have been fortunate enough for my parents to have gotten me all of my bags, jewelry (mainly David Yurman), watches (mostly Michele), shoes, clothing, etc. But I have also always had internships and gotten good grades. I am also not against finding a good deal at Last Call, Off Fifth, TJ Maxx, or Marshalls.

I'm in first year university and i have a part time job at a grocery store. My collection is very small but i just started collecting this year:) So far i own:

Badgley Mischka Large Janet in bourdeaux
Longchamps Le Pliage large in black
Marc Jacobs Aidan Classic Q in black

I have less than a year left of school.
I have had part time jobs on and off during the time I have studied.

I started collecting around 2005 I think?

Anyways my collection is not that large yet.
I currently have:
2 LV ( soon to be 3 if I work regularly the next few weeks)
2 Coach ( plus a Coach wallet)
1 Balenciaga
2 vintage Chanel that I " borrow" from my mum. She hasn't completely gifted them to me "yet" but I use them at my discretion lol

I bought both my current LV by myself. The others except for one Coach were gifts

Because I don't have to rent my own place, and because my job can be quite lucrative at times (service industry and tips ) I can afford to treat myself from time to time.
I don't have a certain amount of bags I buy ever year, but I am a minimalist and know I wouldn't get use out of more than a few handbags so I don't buy a lot.

I'm also lucky because my tuition is not super expensive like it can be in the US.

First year in Uni, but I work in luxury fashion although am in between jobs right now.

Bags alone:
- 1 Goyard St. Louis
- 8 Louis Vuitton (various....)
- 1 Hermès Jypsiere
- 1 YSL Canvas Tote (& hoping to add a Vavin soon)

If we're counting accessories as well......
- 3 Hermès
- 1 Chanel
- 1 Prada
- 2 Gucci
- 3 Louis Vuitton

Oh and I've personally paid for all of my bags out of my paychecks except for the Goyard St. Louis and my LV Cup Keepall. Oh, and my Hermès Ulysse Agenda which was a Christmas gift from my greatest friend ever.

Pretty small purse collection (2 Burberry, 2 Gucci, 1 Fendi, 1 Longchamp, 1 Prada).

The Longchamp was given to me as a birthday gift from my boyfriend. The rest were gifted to me by my family on occasions (HS graduation, 18th birthday, 16th birthday, etc) and the one Prada is from my aunt (also for HS graduation).

I feel very lucky to have been given these things by my parents/family, but I do have a part-time job and have worked every summer since 9th grade in either an internship or job. I know that if I were to use the money I've earned in my life to buy these bags, I could buy all of them twice or thrice over.

My family is really close-knit (there's five of us including mum/dad) and we like to use money earned to treat other family members. I used some of my money to buy my mom a Prada wallet for her 40th birthday, and when my sister graduated from high school I bought her a Gucci purse. When I graduated from HS, she bought me one of the Burberrys. I still have tons of money left over and of course, I'm still actively working part-time, so I hate when people think that I'm spoiled because I've never bought my own bags. I could have easily bought all of those bags, but my family loves gifting and I personally love gifting as well... But of course people jump to conclusions and are quick to label someone as "spoiled" without knowing them or their work ethic.

I'm currently a freshman in college. My parents bought me most of my bags. I have a lot of coach and juicy because thats what i started off with. I never sold any of my bags because just can't since my parents bought them for me. I would feel really bad idk why.

Anyways, i have..

probably 35+ coach pieces (wallets/wristlets/bags)
about 15 juicy pieces (wallets/wristlets/bags)
15 Dooney & Bourke
1 Cole Haan
2 Burberry bags
2 Tory Burch bags
5 Gucci bags
2 Louis Vuitton bags
4 Marc by Marc Jacob bags
1 Kate Spade bag

and i have a few other bags..like vera bradley, francesco biasia, and BCBG.

I have 2 huge stacks of bags in my room on a rack and it reaches my ceiling from the floor. I hate piling them because they get ruined sometimes so I try putting them in dust bags if they come with them.

For most girls I feel like it's saving up for it and if you didn't have the money you'd just shift around the way you spend your money. I'd be one of those people homing around used book stores to get my books at school and abandoned the whole night life thing and that results with the extra hundred or more in my pocket every month towards something I really want to get. People probably don't realize changing your daily routine like sizing down your coffee or reducing/quiting smoking etc can save yourself enough money for luxury items.

ANYWHO. I have 6 Tokidoki bags, a Coach and a D&B. I also have other bags from Harajuku girls, Fossil, Aldo, Sanrio (can't resist the cute stuff...) and other places.

I'm currently a Junior in college. My collection MOSTLY includes Coach because I love the quality & their price range is within my budget at the moment:

Coach::
E/W Gallery Tote (black)
Hamptons Leather Caryall (brown)
Ali Legacy
2 Sabrinas (black & grey)
Parker shoulder bag (tan)
Leather Zoe (black)
Classic shoulder bag
Poppy button crossbody (metallic blue)
Madison Patent Wristlet (black)
Gramercy mini wallet (ink)
Madison mini wallet (grey)
Hampton multifunction wallet

1 RM Morning After Mini Mini (coral)
1 Dooney & Bourke Tote (black)
1 Dooney & Bourke crossbody (pink)
1 Anne Taylor Leather Bucket Bag (bone)
1 Express wristlet (bone)

I have had these items since 2005 and they have been building up. Unfortunately, I had to quit my job due to the stress of school, so I haven't been able to afford anything else. I am hoping to purchase my first Louis once I get my degree!! THREE MORE SEMESTERS TO GO! I can finally start to see the light at the end of the tunneL! :yahoo::yahoo:

That's roughly what I'm doing  I budget every party/dinner out, groceries, transportation even. I worked for one year before entering graduate school & got a scholarship so basically my parents don't need to finance me anymore - thus they gave me more money as birthday/christmas gift too :p

I use this gift money & the little savings I have to pay plane tickets to come back home on holidays, and treat myself with shopping and bags.

My collection is pretty small - a few Alexander Wang bags, and I'm planning on buying a Mulberry Alexa. I'm trying to keep it reasonable... not easy! :graucho:

Where are these fabulous boyfriends that love to gift designer bags?!?!?! I want one!
I knooow, I would love to have a boyfriend like this! :D

I have 2 Miu Miu handbags and 1 Louis Vuitton. Very, very small collection but I'm in University and I spend most of my money on going out and clothes so it's really hard to save for handbags. At the end of the year I'm planning to get a Balenciaga though.

i am very fortunate and my parents pay for everything, im in medical school and i havent ever really had a job - i do help out in the family businesses though..
i have 3 mulberry bayswaters, some anya hindmarch clutches, and a lady dior, and im also hoping to grab some chanel on my way through heathrow!! i have a shoe addiction too with a fast growing louboutin collection, a couple of ferragamos and bottega etc..

but generally, tuition fees are currently a lot lower than in other countries so there is a lot of money saved there!

oh and as my brothers own their own spectacle stores i have a huge range of very high end spectacles and sunglasses (chanel, dior, gucci, bvlgari and prada)

Haha I'm very lucky to have a mom who is a total purse addict :) She especially loves Gucci and Coach, and if a bag is too small for her I "adopt" it.

I'm almost 17 and have a very small 'collection'; a little Gucci bag, a small summery-striped Coach bag, and a Juicy bag I bought myself when I was a freshman. The first two were my mom's before she moved onto bigger and better things haha. I'm currently saving for an LV speedy...need that summer job !!
