Coach's Changing Terminology for FP Delete Bags

What really bothers me is that the Dinkys were right on the same shelf as the other deletes - like they were boutique bags - the quality is good but I do not like being fooled - they did the same with the Nomads and the Drifters - I bet Rogues do show up MFF!

I'm going to go against everyone's guesses and say these are not MFF.

1) The code indicates they were mfg. in May so why are they just coming out now and at 60% off? I know the outlet rarely sells at "suggested retail" but they don't usually put an item out at first at 60% off.

2) The 1941 red sold out quickly and wasn't restocked. If it were a new MFF bag there wouldn't have been such a small quantity.

3) I haven't felt these, but it looks like the same glorious glovetanned leather (excluding the pebble CB which looks great too) inside and out.

4) Yes, there is a F in the serial number so that does identify that as an outlet bag, but maybe that's how they're doing it now - re-sewing a MFF Creed patch into a delete. It's not a lot of work. The outlets have been very inconsistent with adding the bullseye stamp to the storypatch and I've not seen any of my FOS deletes with the bullseye. I haven't even seen my latest outlet deletes with a bullseye. Maybe
corporate decided to go this route to make certain these deletes aren't ever able to be mistaken as coming from FP?

5) Curious if they also added a dot to the "made in" fabric tag?

I could be completely wrong on all of the above, but I will say (and have said before) that as long as the quality is there, who cares if it's MFF? Glovetanned leather = glovetanned leather. And we all know not to pay full price for anything at this point anyway (unless we reeeallly can't live without it) because inevitably items are marked down...PCE, SAS, F&F, ---> outlet.

Forgot to add that the style number is exactly the same as the FP one. If MFF the style number would not be the same would it?

I agree too. My belief is these are either a surplus from overseas or department stores. The quality is the same, everything is the same except for that “F”. If they were truly for the MFF, they would have made some change to the quality or hardware. I think this was the same as what happened to the Nomads too. They were also the same quality, some seem maybe a bit dry possibly to the long storage. They haven’t made new colors of the Nomads/Mae for the outlets, it’s all the same colors as what was sold at the boutiques. Just my thoughts!

I did not see a dot on the Made In fabric tag - the tag is brown - has the horse and carriage print on one side and the other side says Made in Vietnam

I had bought a black Nomad on the on-line outlet and did notice the leather felt "dry" - well - this dinky feels a little "dry" too -

Ah ok then it's not MFF. It was most likely given a new story patch, but is a boutique 1941 bag. Still 100% guessing here..

I wonder if the E18 is when they re-patched them? I feel these color block ones have been out longer than May.

To me, that's even worse. They take out the FP patch and put in an outlet patch, but yet leave in the 1941 tag? It makes it look like they are making 1941 bags for the outlet........

Actually, I don't think they removed one patch and added another, that is a lot more work than just stamping a bullseye on the FP patch. I'm thinking these were maybe not 'completed' bags in the factory and the outlet patch was put in as the bags were completed.....which explains the 1941 tag in a bag that has an outlet patch.

I have 7 dinky's and 5 are butter and 2 feel really dry. Butterscotch has felt dry since day 1. I'm curious now if they were all made in same plant. I know they are different months/years.

Interesting. Plus I think sometimes it has to do with dye lot sometimes. I have 2 1941 Dinkys from the original release a few years ago and both are buttery.

@holiday123, You can usually identify the plant code in the numbers that appear before the dash on the creed patch, at least that is how it used to work - but I don't know if things have changed recently.

The way I am reading the creed patch in the dinky posted above by @Newpurselove is that it is a MFF bag that was manufactured in May 2018 at plant 81; but if you have questions about the origin of your bag(s) you can post them in the "Id this Coach Item!" thread above and one of the authenticators will be better able to advise you:

I agree and was going to say that about the patch, but wasn't sure if they left them incomplete.

Yes! I have a saddle wristlet that took forever for the smell to go away

There is no dot on the "made in" fabric tag. I looked.

I think what confuses me about the whole thing is that the possibility of MFF 1941 items completely runs counter to the whole 1941 concept. The 1941 line was supposedly Coach's effort to create an upscale sector of its brand.
