^ Agreed.
What's the new repair policy? I must have missed that one on here.

Looks like there is only a one-year warranty now. I recall the old conversations about "guarantee vs. warranty" but I don't think there was an explicit time period posted by Coach previously.

"One year" starting when, I don't know. One year from manufacture date, or one year from purchase date? I could assume but we all know where that can lead....:graucho:

One year from purchase date. Keep those receipts!

The new return policy, the lack of numbers on the creeds (I know it is stupid for this to bother me but it does), the new repair policy, and the lack of PCES all make me feel less love for Coach. It seems like customer service isn't very important any more.
Totally agree with you ! Strange change about the repair policy.
Makes me worry the quality is worse now with the cheaper leather and they know something will go wrong after a year.

Wow, Coach is really becoming like everyone else. 60 day return policy, new Paypal policy and 1 Year return policy. Coach is really trying to not standout amongst the competition. It's really sad, Coach doesn't know or understand it's customers.

^no kidding.

Yep, locking out or banning loyal buyers, all plus this plus the chasing the "new" customer.

Hey didn't everyone learn in economics that the best customer is the new customer you don't have yet, not the one who is already there. Of course! [sarcasm font]

The lifetime warranty was definitely something that made coach stand out from other brands. I understand the return policy change but this really stinks. I think it will be much easier for customers to move on to other brands now.

That's how Sprint acts towards it's customers! They used to have perks for those who were long time customers and they got rid of that a few years ago.

I'm a bit disappointed about the repair policy...I wonder if there were too many abusing it?? I have never used it, but it is such a nice perk, and although I did love the returns policy before, it makes sense to shorten it...but the repair and guarantee set Coach apart from other brands.

The thing is, to move on to other brands is to have very similar policies to what Coach has as of now, so basically you just have to love the bags from another brand more because you aren't getting any more perks than Coach will give you..

In other words, Coach is becoming like Michael Kors, LV (although LV's policies are still much stricter), and all the others...

I was locked out for the sale this week. I've been able to purchase items for the past year. I did not sign up at an outlet, so maybe that's why I'm locked out. My mother in law's account is also locked. She never bought anything, I just used her account 1 time before I got my own account. Maybe her account was locked due to inactivity. I can understand that. I own about 20-25 Coach bags and that includes some of the older Legacy bags..Gigi, Leigh and Mollys. I purchased 2 bags from the sale a couple of weeks ago. One was damaged and the other was way too big for me. I also have 2 daughter in laws. They carry Coach now, thanks to me. Occasionally, I will purchase something for them. I returned the damaged bag and also the one that was too big. Was that why I was locked out? I guess they want me to keep the damaged bag, just to put the fear in me that I might get locked out if I return it!!! Out of the last 10 sales or so, I probably purchased 4-5 items. Was that too much, or maybe not enough!! I am so tired of the games, getting up early, being locked out, etc. Now the warranty change. I can understand the return policy. So, I went to my closet and got all my purses out and found the ones, maybe 3, that I haven't used. I didn't return them previously, out of fear I would be banned. Well, guess what Coach, I am not banned, but locked out, and so I don't care. Why do some people get to buy bags cheaper and others have to pay retail price?? It's knowing this that makes it so upsetting!! I went to the full price store last week and was hounded by a SA. I didn't think she was going to let me leave with out a purchase!! Well, I am returning those 3 bags. I have the receipts and will no longer be purchasing Coach bags!! Way to go Coach, you have just lost 4 customers, including my mother in law!! Thanks for letting my rant!!

I really don't think a very big percentage of people were abusing the repair policy, especially since there was the $20 fee. I don't think a very big percentage of people were returning things after holding on to them for a year. The average consumer didn't even realize that you could return things after that long which is why you see so many NWT listed on ebay for less than they cost. The thing about a liberal return and repair policy is that it establishes goodwill even with people who don't take advantage of the policy.
