Coach Returns Policy

We're lucky to have fellow tPFs to keep each other informed. However, WHEN and IF Coach will be breaking the news on the new return/repair policy to the rest of us that don't go to the outlet to have heard it from an SA? I know quite a few people that had bought Coach and still unaware of the situation (probably never will) coz they're not tPFers and they haven't been checking out Coach bags for a while... :shrugs:

On Saturday I returned a clutch I purchased a few months ago from fos. Not once did the SA mention the return policy change like I thought she would. And when a customer next to me was buying 4 bags, the SA didn't tell her either.
It wasn't on my return receipt, but maybe they have it printed on the sales receipt? That's what other stores usually do.

Wow I didn't think I was that out of the loop but sheesh, lots of changes coming to fruition! Thanks for all of the information, I guess I have until jan to decide if I have any returns. I suppose the returns policy makes sense with other brands, but someone brought up a good point that dept stores would still have their own policies I would imagine. Again, thanks for passing along the info!

I am planning to visit Coach outlet in Carlsbad next week, I have an accordion wallet( still with tags) I bought at the same place about two years ago... It is kinda long time ago and I did not keep the receipt. I wonder if they will still let met return it for the store credit? I am planning to buy a FP store item so if they give me a credit , may I use it at a FP store? Thanks in advance!

As long as it has tags and is unused I don't see why they wouldn't issue you the store credit. I think they have to give you the current or lowest selling price unless they can look up your purchase. I had to do this earlier this year and they were very friendly about it and i was able to use the credit on a full price purchase. Make sure you do the return soon because I think starting in jan or feb you can no longer return items over 60 days old.

Thank you so much! It seems I have a chance. Yes, I read this new return policy thread and realized that I am running out of time to do smth about it. I actually didn't even know Coach has.... had such a great return policy.
It does have a tag and I have never used it. I bought it using a promotion coupon smth like buy $250 and get $50 off, I got a hobo bag and a silk scarf with it so I am not sure how much was the wallet itself. The very similar wallets are now at outlets for around $80 ( my guess how much I paid for it, proportionally) , except my one's msrp is $198 and now they are $248, otherwise looks absolutely the same.

Semi-Related question.....I bought a jacket at an outlet 9/20 and paid using CC. I get home and discover that some recent items I'd returned through JAX couldn't be credited back to an old credit card (because I'd closed the account), so instead of issuing me a check, as they've done in the past, they gave me a Merchandise Credit (gift card).

So can I return the coat and get my CC credited and then turn around and rebuy it using my merchandise credit, or will they not let me do that? I'm not planning on buying any new Coach anytime soon, so I just know the card is going to sit gathering dust or else I'll probably lose it!

Honestly, I would call them and ask the manager if it were me. You are do an even exchange per se, so it is not like it will hurt their end of day numbers or anything.

Thanks, I'll give it a try. If not, I may ask them if they can just void the merch. credit and issue me a check, that's what they've done in the past for me automatically, I've never received a merchandise credit. I wonder if they did that because of their change to the return policy (although the stuff I returned was way back in late July) . I was really surprised it took so long for the merch. credit to be mailed to me.

I agree calling would probably save you a trip if they say no (its rare to get a consistent answer there, but if you call and get the managers name if they say ok then you should be able to tell the sa that when you get there), but I also don't see why they couldn't do the return and rebuy once you explain you were expecting a check.

I was also thinking if they could look up your return and tell the receipt was included they should be able to issue you a check, but I'm not sure they would be able to do that at the brick and mortar store. You could try calling cust svc too and say that you would like the check, but they might have you mail the credit back... I got a new card so I've been taking returns directly to the store so I can tell them I want the check because I'm worried about mailing and getting a credit. Lol they never make it easy do they?!

I have a bag I bought from an outlet at the end of June I'm thinking of returning because I've never had the urge to carry it like I thought I would. I called my closest outlet just to double check that I could still return it and she said no. I thought we had until the end of this year to return purchases that were made before the new 60 day rule?

Did you ask to speak to the manager?
