Any luck with your credit coming through? I really hope it has!!! [emoji3]
Nope, not yet! I called CS again, and they're now saying that it would take 5-7 business days for shipping, and then at least 2 weeks for processing once it arrives there. So the earliest I'd see a credit would be on 10/7 (or 10/10, possibly, if the weekend gets too busy or some nonsense). Out of the 3 calls I made, 2/3 said that the store was in the wrong, that I should have been credited right away... that this was the whole reason they consolidated their outlet/FP systems to deal with returns.
Needless to say, I'm super annoyed by this... I mean, it's about $150 (not like it was a $300 bag or something), but I'm just so irritated to have that money out on my cc, and now I have to pay my bill knowing I should have had a credit there to soften the blow, ya know? It really makes me not want to deal with FOS anymore - this ability to take things back to FP encouraged me to buy more, knowing I wouldn't have to drive an inconvenient distance to an outlet in case I need to return.

And why do I have to fight with a FP store anyway? Shouldn't they know the policy and not force me to argue with them when I'm tired after a long day at work? And now the fight will continue a month after the initial return. I actually bought 2 bags at a more recent FOS (before I knew the credit wasn't coming through), and was going to take one back, but now I think I'll take both back (to an outlet this time) because I just don't think I want to support this behavior. The bags are rarely a "need" for me at this point, so it actually forces me to be "good" and banned like I should be

C'mon guys, 30 days is plenty of time to know if you wanna keep something! This will help the brand by restricting returns from those who abuse the policy!
Yes, other handbag lines do have just 30 days as well. What I do not like is if I have an item I got for a great price and consider giving as a gift - if the person doesn't like it - I am out of luck if past 30 days as they would not even get a store credit..or would they? I am also wondering if dept stores will be required to adjust their returns on Coach product. I think Macys for instance is 180 days.

Im sure that with a gift receipt they could do an exchange. I don't think we should expect retailers to bend over backwards to accommodate customers in situations that take place very infrequently.

I know it's been a little while since the thread was active but just wanted update with some info. Last night was informed by my SAs at the boutique that as of May 15th they are no longer accepting outlet returns.

My outlet also said as of May 15th, they will no longer take retail returns. This means we will not be able to score those retail returns at the Outlet. I ask her if that's why the change in policy and she said it could be as they were seeing a higher rate of retail returns which were quickly bought up. The Outlets are NOT suppose to sell those (especially the 1941 items) and instead return to the distribution center but many Outlets didn't follow the procedure and instead sold the items in store.

When I buy stuff at the outlet and get such great prices; I wouldn't dream of returning it.
If I hadn't used it over a period of time, I would give it to someone as a gift. I never thought that the person I gave it to would try to return or exchange it. How rude!

That's bad news for me. I have no retail store and always relied on being able to return things that didn't work out to the outlet. If I have to mail them back, I'm going to be thinking harder about whether I really want something.

I heard the exact same thing today. I understand but it may be difficult for some now... if they are not near fp or outlet. I did most returns to outlet out of convenience...they are closer.

You'll still be able to return retail items through mail with a free shipping label provided by Coach though, I don't think I'd let that stop me from shipping if returns are still free :)

You have to worry about it getting lost in the system and not getting credited back for all the items you returned; you have to wait so long that the chances of getting an exchange before they sell out are slim; you have to wait nearly a month for the credit to your card.

When they ship you items from a store, a free return label isn't included. This happens sometimes when you order online but the order is filled from a store instead of from the warehouse.

I've always kept copies of my receipt and just wrote down the tracking number found on the label, all orders from Coach.com should come with a label regardless of if a store sends it or it comes from the warehouse. If a store doesn't send you a return label you could always call them to fax or email one to you too, that always works for me :)
And returns only take 2wks max.
I was just offering a few suggestions. Hope you find a solution that works!
