Coach Returns Policy

I've run into that in the FP stores; maybe some of them are really unhappy in their jobs so they take it out on the customers. I knew a manager like that; she always seemed really unhappy and once, she looked like she had been crying. I remember once before that, I wanted to see a new bag that they had in back stock, but they refused to sell it because it wasn't on the floor set yet. I then learned from another manager at a different store that that was illegal and that they should absolutely promote sales if they have the bag in stock whether it is on display or not.

Yeah I pretty much refuse to shop at my local boutique unless the only nice SA is working. I think the manager dislikes me because of this. I asked if my SA was in one day and she said no that she could help me instead. I politely said I would come back on a day she worked. She gave me a nasty attitude and then the next time I saw her a month later she refused to allow a FOS return in her store even though my nice SA wanted to do it. I took it to my outlet a week later and told them what happened. They told me to avoid her like the plague because she treats everyone awful. They all have a poll going as to when she will finally get fired.

Wow, not good. I met a really great SA at the same store where the previous manager was a total jerk. I think she (the nice SA) must be the manager now. Anyway, she really personalizes the shopping experience, is NOT pushy at all when I want to browse the store and not feel coerced into buying something. I just met her and wish I had met her long ago when I was a more frequent shopper; now, I think the only time I will make a purchase at a FP store is for the Coach event or if they have another semi annual sale.

read all the posts...still seems inconsistent...

let's say I have a FP bag, new, with tags and its receipt from January 2010
Can I still return any time, as the receipt states?
Or do I have until Jan 2015 because the policy changed and the receipt states the policy may change?

From my personal experience, you can return up until the magical date in January 2015. After that, the new 60 day return policy will apply across the board, no matter when it was purchased.

Lol, Coach reserves the right to change its mind...

I think you have until Jan. 2015 to return anything bought BEFORE this new policy started...kind of like a grace period. But anything bought after that date (whenever that cut-off date was) is 60 days from date of receipt.

+1 Yes, this is what I was told and the receipts for items I have purchased right after the new policy state this. The exception are items purchased during the Holiday return period (purchases made beginning October 27th). These items can be returned through 1/18/2015 according to my receipts.

Starting to try and de-clutter my house and am seriously thinking about returning some bags that are still NWT from the last 2 years. Since I got so many more after that time period, I never used the ones I got back then. Sad; why do we continue to collect bags so continuously? I realize I got too many too fast.

Tell me about...I'm right there with you! Since I was running out of storage room, didn't want to make more room, realized how outta control I was getting (with my husband in my ear, LOL), I went thru my NWT bags. If it wasn't "love" or if I thought it was more expensive than I thought it should be, I returned it. If I couldn't make a decision, I held on to it and thought about it - these typically went back but I needed the time to think about it. So I'm in better shape now, I still have bags that I LOVE and I decided to sell some of my older bags that I don't use anymore. It felt good :smile1:

EDIT: 1 bag was a year old, I had no problems returning it in early November.

Thank you for sharing. :) I'm in the same boat! Did you have any Coach bags that were more than a year old that you returned? I've never returned one that old, but if they are taking them if they are NWT until January, now is the time. I've got way too many bags. They are all beautiful, but if I'm not going to use them all, I might as well get the money and the space back.

I have returned a bag right around the 1 year timeframe. You're right though, now is the time to do it :smile1:

I noticed on the FOS site the returns policy states you can take items to the FP store. Has anyone done this? Do they really take items from FOS?

Yes they do. And unlike in the past, they can actually refund you the money however you paid, instead of giving you just merchandise credit. Of course, you must have the receipt with you.

Unless you have a horrible cranky manager that refuses to let you return. That was my problem awhile back. My return was still factory wrapped even. She said the store couldn't afford to ship it back to JAX. I went to the outlet a week or so later and they apologized. They also said to avoid her in the future.

So sorry Harley77. The outlet closest to me is like that - so I never go there, although sometimes I think I should just because they are one place I don't feel bad about returning to and messing with their numbers.....

Thankfully, my SA is now the store manager at my FP store and she is fantastic. She was super excited about this new move and constantly tells me not to get stuck with merch credit.

I just wish they would figure out if they are coming or going - so frustrating dealing with them sometimes.
