I feel like I have used up my allotment of good fortune *for now* around buying light color bags online. I still feel like I dodged a bullet with shiny tote, that the stains came out despite what ever it was treated with.
And while it is beautiful, I would probably be over concerned about keeping it good looking and be constantly wiping it.
You are stronger than me, I keep looking at listings, telling myself I am just looking for a bag on my HG list. Then I see something not on my list that is interesting, and buy it lol.

I had that bag before. Bought it for $60 in Indigo. While it's a very nice bag, the leather is super thick and that makes the bag pretty heavy without anything in it. I also can't carry it crossbody so it had to go. I now see a great deal and do my checklist. If it doesn't meet my requirements I don't buy it. Now I share so if it's someone else's style they can get a great deal. :)

Thank God all of the Berkleys I have been looking at are more than I want to spend so I am safe. Looking forward to pulling out my brown flap for a spin now that cool weather is dipping in by me.

Yes they do seem to always be expensive so my Berkeley collection is also very small.

That's a cool bag! What a score! I have never seen that one before.

I'm all excited. I keep looking at the pics!
I picked up a Beekman briefcase in great condition, Mahogany, last fall that was a steal. It was made in the DR and the leather is gor-geous. But it is so heavy empty. So I just finished a rehab and it looks amazing. I will put it up for sale locally but have not ruled out gifting it. There is this mythical (lol) dowel bag, larger than a Willis, on my HG list but the only one available is much more than I want to pay.
And it looks like this Bancroft has the similiar side detailing like my beloved Oliver. So when the Bancroft arrives and gets cleaned up, it can give my *Shiny* Light Tote a break, which has been in heavy rotation. Just need to look for a shoulder strap.

Okay. Ready to deal with this. I bought this bag in a Goodwill, total impulse buy (I recall being annoyed at my boss that day) $20. I had seen this bag on another thread in great shape in hot pink and it looked stunning. And I was totally hot for the Anninersary lining. #12797 Bleeker Street Haversack. I have even done some spot cleaning on it with a Dawn dishwash solution and a toothbrush. At this point I am ready to dunk it in Dawn and give it a toothbrush scrub. The pics don't show imo the true extent of the dirt. I have to admit in different light, it looks more and less dirty. Has anyone dunked a grimy 2008 suede bag? Side note, I do not have a high efficiency washer. Old school top loader. Ouside, not quite full sun.20170909_162147.jpg 20170909_162208.jpg 20170909_162212.jpg 20170909_162223.jpg 20170909_162238.jpg 20170909_162250.jpg

My goodness! It's gorgeous!! I have little experience with suede, but have dunked a couple Berkeley chunky make-up bags.
You are better off not having an HE machine to machine wash. More water = less friction.
I would machine wash if opinions are the teal suede would not bleed.
Wait for more opinions.

That is a stunning bag! I have not washed this style before but have had great success washing a suede Lucky hobo. Hand washing just didn't get the dirt out. I ended up throwing in a garment bag, and ran it through the wash twice. The suede came out beautiful and soft after brushing, but the colour did fade a bit. I am looking into a moisturizing spray to deepen the tone again. Saphir makes a good one ( I read - no affiliation) but you have to spray it outside because it has such a strong odour. One poster here had good luck with emu oil and brushing. Can't remember who! Good luck with your bag, I think it was a good purchase
