Use white vinegar straight. You can also use a magic eraser. I dip the magic eraser in the vinegar. If you have dark spots, you might be able to bleach them with zit cream, but you run the risk of lightening the spots too much. I've used RIT color remover on leather - again, it is unpredictable how much lightening you'll get. For conditioning, I'd use Cadillac.
I used it straight, it's cleaned up the surface dirt but not super clean. The areas under the pockets the most worn I guess.
Ugh, how can someone be so careless about a bag like this! It's like it's NEVER EVER been cleaned! IMG_20161024_220957_582.jpg IMG_20161024_221043_271.jpg

It looks pretty bad! Some of that could be color transfer. Also with white bags, sometimes the leather color beneath the dye starts to show through, so the more you clean it, the worse it gets.

Oof - that's pretty bad!
Did you try Whateve's vinegar + magic eraser trick? I think that would remove more, unless you can tell you're already down to the base leather.

I did just vinegar and cotton round. I was wiping a little vigorously to get the verdigris off and it took off the white and exposed the leather underneath. So I guess just gentle wiping with vinegar is ok but no scrubbing/rubbing!

Would vinegar be any good for removing sticker gunk from leather? I have 2 items that need sticker residue removed from them. One is one of those emoji bag charms I picked up at Macy's yesterday. They stuck a price sticker on the back of it and it's left a big mark. I tried a little leather cpr but that didn't remove it. I could return it I guess but I would rather just find a way to wipe it off. The other item is a beautiful pre-creed flap bag I got from ebay that arrived yesterday. It has a sticker gunk mark on the inside suede of the flap and a very faint sticker mark on the outside too, much smaller. I really really don't want to ruin this bag so I'm reluctant to use anything harsh, experimental or risky. I can't figure out what color this is. Seller listed as navy but it's much lighter and greener than navy. Interested to see what color the water runs! I'm happy it has no hardware to clean as even the hang tag needs rehab on this one!2016-10-24 21.08.35.jpg 2016-10-24 21.08.46.jpg2016-10-24 21.08.54.jpg 2016-10-24 21.09.17.jpg :

Just finished this bag and wanted to share it with you guys. It's probably my best rehab yet, and I just LOVE how it turned out! Dunked it, followed by one coat Lexol and two coats Leather CPR (first time using this, really like the results!) and finished with Blackrock. I think she needs a scarf, or maybe a charm?

Thanks for letting me share
I have this same bag in black. When I purchased it, it had scratches all over it and was dry as a bone. I dunked and applied two coats of leather conditioner and then black rocks, when I dunked it the water was JET BLACK! when I get home, I will put up a pick of it...came out good, but yours looks amazing!

I have the exact same bag in red! Unfortunately with the same large sticker glue (?) under the flap on mine also!! I used Goof Off and brushed it but it didn't seem to do too much and the suede was coming off due to brushing so I stopped and gave it a bath immediately. It's still there but I don't care. It's under the flap. No one will see it. :)IMG_20161025_122512_830.jpg

OMG that is so weird! So maybe our bags came from the same store and they used big stickers for the price tags. So I guess I will be outta luck trying to remove it. I also don't think it matters hugely since its on the inside. I'm really looking forward to dunking this baby to see what color she really is. Your red one is beautiful!

Thanks! Where did you find this beauty?

2012 Legacy duffles are the bane of my rehabbing existence. I can't find anything to restore the loss of color in the corners.

So, I've been thinking about this. What about a base sealer of some sort before painting? Kinda like how you prime a canvas before you paint on it. What about something like super glue...Thoughts....?

I've never used Leather Therapy. I would use the same thing I always use, which is dishwashing soap. You wouldn't want anything that would moisturize as that might make the suede slick. However, if Leather Therapy has a lower ph than dishwashing soap, it would be more gentle. Definitely don't use Soilove. I tried that once on suede and it removed the color.

I put on my big girl pants and did it...washed a suede bag! I put it in the washing machine on the hand wash cycle and it came out perfect. Whew! Thanks for the encouragement!

I tried that, not super glue, but leather cement and it still didn't work. I think a bath might work since I was able to paint my bag after I dipped it in RIT dye.
