I really doubt it will come out in a bath. What might have caused this stain? Bag owner does not know what caused it (bought it this way, tried getting it out with Coach cleaner). Do you think this can be refurbished?
Those don't look like water spots to me. Water spots often wash out. Most leather people don't realize these bags can be washed in water so they might not have tried that. If they tried some kind of chemical cleaner on it, it might have set the stains in.
In my opinion, Lexol isn't a robust enough conditioner for rehabs. I've never tried that particular conditioner before, but there are many that do a good job. Nothing gives a glow like Blackrocks though. Mink oil is usually easy to find and works well.
I have the same bag, same color and mine had a lot of marks and darkened areas. Dunking definitely helped, but some of them were really stubborn esp. areas on the piping. I'd be more optimistic for your bag if those were just water stains, but that's not what it looks like to me, either.
I've tried rehabbing several Coach and non-Coach reds and they do seem trickier than other colors but can be improved. Good luck![]()
I have read in this thread that Leather CPR is quite a favourite among rehabbers here for vintage coach but I can't find it here either. Lexol is the only available. There are plenty of others but not sure is they are ok to use on the bags. Perhaps I will try to get mink oil next. Is the way to use mink oil the same as leather conditioner i.e. apply on microfibre cloth and then onto the bag?
Bed Bath and Beyond and Amazon has Leather CPR. Good luck!
Thank you for sharing this! I should try this and hopefully it makes the bag match the darkened oil handprint my son left on my brown bag!I really like Leather CPR but in my experience it darkens everything by a few shades. I only use it on black or navy bags.

I wish someone here would buy this so I could see it restored! @coach943 (?) ahem..

I agree with Katherine. Leather CPR never darkens for me other than brightening the color if the bag is dry. Leather Honey, Leather Therapy, Blackrocks, and Obenaufs all darken, in my opinion. I find Leather CPR to be my safest conditioner to use as some of the others bring out imperfections that weren't visible before.I've had the opposite experience with Leather CPR, and wish it darkened a bit more. It's my go to if I don't want a significant change. It will darken lighter color bags that are super dry, like taupe colors, but when compared to the interior pockets that retain the original color, I haven't found it to darken the leather too much.
I have a taupe basic that is giving me fits right now...conditioner just sits in the pores of the piping, but the rest of the bag looks dry. [emoji34]
It's all relevant based on your eye power. Seller is far sighted." one small spot" ??? It looks like it covers half the flap!

That is funny. Maybe it has something to do with the humidity in our area? I live in a very dry area. I know some people have great results with Leather Therapy. I've never liked anything it has done for me. I can't understand why it is so different for me.What's funny is I'm using Leather Therapy right now on a brown bag because it doesn't darken anything for me! Funny how we can have such opposite experiences with the same products.
