I have an older Croc Embossed Maggie. I treat is just like regular leather. It is really no different than regular cow leather. They just use stamping to make it embossed to look like croc. I use regular conditioner on it. (I've never found the need for any type of cleaner for it. Mine is black and still looks great after all these years with just regular conditioning.) If you bought it new, it should include a care card for how to care for it.

Thank you for your reply, I will treat it like regular leather. Perhaps I can gently clean it with baby wipes, and then use conditioner. I did get the bag new, but it didn't come with a care card or dust bag, and it was a floor model so I'd feel better if I somewhat cleaned it before conditioning.

Well, I'm waiting on my first Pebbled bag. I've been searching the thread with no real luck. I'm guessing I can dunk it, but not the strap??
If anyone has time to write up some pointers, I'd be grateful. Or even direction to an old post would be great.
I love this style! I've dunked those. I even washed one in the washing machine. I pull out the lining and let it dry first, then put it back in and stuff the bag so the leather can dry. I condition as usual. Some people warn against using thick conditioners on pebbled leather because it could get stuck in the valleys, but I just make sure the excess is wiped off. I think Blackrocks gives it a nice shine.

I wouldn't use baby wipes on it. Baby wipes are not good for leather. If you think it is dirty, just wipe it off with a damp cloth with a little gentle soap on it.

Thanks Whateve. It's 13" x 9". It's great it's so big.
Am I understanding this correctly about not letting the strap soak?

I think someone had a problem with the strap getting too floppy and she thought it was from soaking too long. I don't soak long unless a bag is really dirty anyway. I think you should be fine getting the strap wet as long as it doesn't sit in the water too long.

I don't think it is really that big. According to the creed number, it should be about 11 x 8. There is a much larger size but this isn't it unless the creed is wrong.

I have dunked a 4903, including the strap, with no problems.

Another rehabber, Sonoma, posted last year about a problem with a strap on a Sonoma that she dunked. The strap was lumpy and sticky on one part after the dunking:

It turned out the problem may have been due to the strap being thin and stretched out from hanging for a long time before she got it.

Enjoy your beautiful bag...such yummy leather!

Argh..I have had benzoyl peroxide spill on my shoes once and it bleached out the spot. So I was counting on this experience and tried hydrogen peroxide to bleach out pen marks. It didn't work. The hydrogen peroxide is only 3% and was just too weak and did nothing. Moving on to plan B. I am buying zit cream tomorrow. I paid $7 for that town bag so I don't feel too bad experimenting but I just can't wait to get rid of those pen marks! If all else fails, I think I am heading towards dying it burgundy.

Anyone refurbished an ivory/beige bags? Tips? suggestions on getting it back to looking new?

A very good day to everyone!

I am now debating whether to get this red coach bag which I already have it authenticated at the authentication thread (it's genuine) as there are some marks that are not removable according to the seller. Please refer to attached pics. Seller said she did send the bag to bag cleaning services before and was told the marks were water stains and can't be removed. Just want some advise from fellow rehabbers here, do you think this bag can be rehabbed and rescued? I do actually quite love the red color as it is quite rare to come across red coach bags but the marks is quite noticeable too. would appreciate your opinions and thanks in advance!

Reds can be difficult, but I think it could be improved by dunking and conditioning.
However, there's no guarantee that all the stains will disappear. They may simply become less noticeable.
Personally, if I liked the bag and the color (and I do like this one), and the price was very reasonable, I would give it a try.
I do wonder what "cleaning services" she used, and what they may have put on the bag to try to clean it, if anything.

Thanks Catbird9 for your advise. The price is not too expensive, ard $25 shipped. Will give it a try and see how it turns out. It doesn't have a coach tag though :( Will update more when I get the bag. Btw, I can't get Blackrocks here, so I just used Lexol on my bags but unable to get any glow (shine?) on it. Wondering if anyone has tried 'Lord Sheraton's Leather Balsam' before?

Those don't look like water spots to me. Water spots often wash out. Most leather people don't realize these bags can be washed in water so they might not have tried that. If they tried some kind of chemical cleaner on it, it might have set the stains in.

In my opinion, Lexol isn't a robust enough conditioner for rehabs. I've never tried that particular conditioner before, but there are many that do a good job. Nothing gives a glow like Blackrocks though. Mink oil is usually easy to find and works well.

I have the same bag, same color and mine had a lot of marks and darkened areas. Dunking definitely helped, but some of them were really stubborn esp. areas on the piping. I'd be more optimistic for your bag if those were just water stains, but that's not what it looks like to me, either.
I've tried rehabbing several Coach and non-Coach reds and they do seem trickier than other colors but can be improved. Good luck :)
