I like this style of bag. It's so cute! I thought about sending it back, but the inside still smells new and it is in fairly good shape. It would have been great had they not used such a small box. But it was a good deal.

Ok, I feel like I have a plan of attack. I hope I can get some of the stains off. I think some of it is color transfer, but some of it looks like the color on the leather has worn off. It's not bad but it's there. Can I also use Leather CPR and Blackrock on it after using vinegar? And in what order: vinegar, steam, then Leather CPR/Blackrock? I haven't had any experience with cleaning vachetta leather (if it's vachetta).
If it is vachetta, vinegar is the best cleaner for it. Other cleaners or water will darken and stain it. I use Cadillac conditioner on my vachetta. Other conditioners may darken or stain. Is the signature part fabric or coated canvas?

hi ladies. I got this bag in a bundle auction and I thought I'd try my hand at rehabbing. The front stains looks like ink and hasn't budged with my toothbrush and Ivory soap scrubbing. Thinking about vinegar or giving it a dunk. Any suggestions?

I dunked on Friday night. Huge ugly stain inside just went away. This is the outside with CPR only. I scrubbed with Dawn. Not sure if I should dunk again and use some Goop on it? I'm guessing it's ink since they look like hearts.
Or I guess I'm off to the craft store to get some acrylic paint...ImageUploadedByPurseForum1468174688.216178.jpg

Another question about blackrocks. How does it work on Vachetta? I've got a rose 10328 Legacy shoulder bag and was hoping to use it to give a bit of shine and hopes to help seal the hardware and prevent verdigris.....

I don't think the Legacy rose is vachetta, is it? I think I used Blackrocks on my rose Bridgit. It won't do anything to the hardware though. You'll have to find a different product for that. I wouldn't try to polish it though, since it isn't solid brass. I tried to polish Legacy hardware once and it just scratched it and made it worse. There is a product someone used earlier in this thread that I think was good for it, but I can't remember when or what.

I'd try some paint mixed with conditioner. I doubt you'll be able to cover completely. It would be nice if you could make it look more like random patina than heart-shaped stains.
As a last resort, I might try to find some appliques to cover up the spots, like Coach is doing now on several styles.

All of the legacy 65 anniversary bags from that year/ line are Vachetta from what I understand...could be wrong, but I think so. The dye is more like paint though so I was not sure how the wax would work on those bags.
I am using another product to clean the hardware (I do lightly clean the brass even though it is coated, the oxidation on the one I have is pretty bad...it needs it, but I will not use my dremmel.) I was thinking the wax in the Blackrocks will help to encourage the moisture to stay away from the hardware.

I was thinking that too. I bought some sea sponges and thought I might be able to lightly disperse the paint. I'm hold now. Monday's are too exhausting for me to work on it tonight.

However, I did get the brown bag with the kisslock pouch today and she is taking a swim right now! The bag is in much better shape than the pictures showed. And I feel better about the $20 shipping since it arrived today!! Wow!

So, I tend to be a skeptic when it comes to most things....
Today I went to my Coach Factory store and sheepishly asked if they had any hangtags. I was pretty embarrassed. Guess what? The SA said, "Sure, we have a few. What do you need?" and led me to a drawer of them!
I've only been buying Coach this year. I've bought plenty that turned out to be all wrong for me. I've learned I really only like NYC or USA bags. So, they didn't have much for those, but I did get a few black and brown ones. But, for you who collect the newer "fancy" bags I thought I'd let you know. If you go in and be really nice and polite they really do have a "secret drawer" of spares!
It was like when John Travolta open the briefcase in Pulp Fiction!!!!

That is a fantastic. My favorite boutique store, which has now closed, used to help me replace missing hangtags for my rehabs. They loved trying to help me find the perfect one for a bag. They had a gigantic plastic bags of extras. One time I think I came home with about 10 extras.

Some outlets are freer with their hangtags than others. Years ago, they gave me quite a few. Then they started requiring me to bring in the bag that needed the hangtag. Then they stopped giving them out completely unless you had the bag and the receipt, showing you bought it there recently, because people were coming in and getting handfuls of them to sell on ebay.
