I'd wash it first to see how clean it comes out. That spot on the inside looks like ink but the rest might not be. It looks like a really pretty bag.
I was planning on giving it a long soak! With Dawn and vinegar? You guys made me hopeful when I read that sometimes the deep red color comes back after a dunk. I can't wait.
It'll be a good chance to try something different with the burning pen maybe.
I have only used CPR and Lexol. I'm ordering the Obenaufs and Blackrocks for this bag.

A quickie post with a mediocre pic but hope you still enjoy! This one's definitely in my top 5 styles and I 'overpaid' (*bay price at the thrift store

It got the usual dunk, CPR x 2, BR x 2, Flitz on hardware and still needs a final buff. Never in a million years did I think I'd ever buy a bag scarf, but y'all converted me! Not ready to go full-on with a bow...yet. Can't wait to carry her!
ETA: Re recent strap straightening disc, you can see that even with saturating, working, and pressing under 2 tons of books I still have a tiny kink in my strap. Going with Catbird9's 'Live with it' option

I know what you mean about the scarves! I only considered it after seeing someone post a GORGEOUS red leather bag with an added scarf earlier. Maybe on this thread? Maybe on the vintage thread? Anyway, then I had to have one(and by one, I mean 3)
Love this bag! I have one in BT. I got mine a little overpriced from a thriftstore too, the Goodwill "boutique" near me. It was $30. Most of their other Coach bags are $40-$40 so I consider it a good deal. It's such a cute bag though I think it was worth it. It's a very useful size. Just big enough..
I had written a longer post on another topic but changed my mind, and no matter what I tried, every time I came back to this thread, my deleted, erased, discarded post was still there. There seems to be no way to remove a saved draft (if anyone knows it, please enlighten me!)

I'm just finishing rehabbing a red Basic Bag and the color is simply amazing. I've never carried red bags before but vintage Coach has expanded my consciousness.
Great teaser birds eye pic! Looking fwd to the big reveal...and I've never had a red bag until vintage Coach either!
When I start a reply and then hit Cancel, it asks if I want to Save, Discard draft, and I forget the 3rd option. This is with the iPad app though.
I bought this bag on ebay from ebay valet, and when it arrived it was in a box too small for its size and the bag was folded together causing it to be misshapen. So of course I was none too pleased. Any ideas on reshaping it? The leather is creased now (and it wasn't in the pics in the listing) and I just feel like it's ruined. I'm hoping it can be saved.
Also, if it can be reshaped is there any way to remove color that has rubbed off on the leather? It has a few places where it looks like the purse was rubbed up against blue jeans.
Any ideas and help are greatly appreciated!!!
