Good afternoon everyone. As some of you know, I recently purchased a "teal" blue Sheridan Elliot. I finally bought it because I was 99% sure it was not teal blue and I felt sorry for it. It arrived yesterday and I started work on it today. It is not finished by any means but I am really pleased with how it looks so far. The inside of the flap looked even worse than the outside. I've attached before and after photos. I hope you like what's been done so far.

She is looking brand new!

Awww thanks so much chowlover! So there's two dog lovers on this list! :smile1: The piping needs work as there is breakthrough on the front corners but I can fix that once I finish with the blue. I used a bit of Leather CPR and some Meltonian navy on it. I love the Meltonian cream as I can blend colors if needed and it doesn't clog up the finish.

I just bought my first Meltonian and I really like it!

Here's the Carlyle. I am tickled pink with the disappearance of the dents in the flap. There isn't even the slightest evidence of them ever being there!

I am also thrilled with how the female part of the turnlock came out with the sanding. I left the male portion undone so that you could see the difference. A lovely brushed effect that will remain even if I have to polish it again!

Here are her wrinkles - much better! I have a little brown spot that I need to touch up, but I think she came out great! Just need to finish her hardware, and she's ready to go out on the town. :)
What a great job. She's gorgeous! I presume the turn lock is solid brass? You couldn't do that with brass plated hardware could you?

Wow, it looks gorgeous! Is it really teal? I have a navy Sheridan and it is pretty dark, but it is a greenish, rather than a purplish, navy.

OMG. I bet the seller had no idea of how good she could look! And you did it so quickly!

Did you dunk it?

I just bought my first Meltonian and I really like it!

At one time, Meltonian was owned by Sara Lee who owns Coach so some of their colors are specifically geared toward Coach bags. For example, they make scarlet which is a perfect match for my Madison Bristol. They make an olive green that works on the older bags and today I used medium brown on a couple of my Dakotas. I am going to order more in the next week or so as I don't have white but I am not sure if I need white or winter white. I love the fact that they blend so well and I can make custom colors if needed. Unfortunately, owning Kiwi and Meltonian gave Sara Lee total control over the leather industry so the federal government intervened and Kiwi and Meltonian were sold to SC Johnson. I suspect that Meltonian makes the Coach leather products but no way to know for sure. Glad you are enjoying Meltonian too. :D

Dunk it? No dunking. lol It didn't need anymore stress than it already had. I cleaned it up with Leather CPR and then used Meltonian navy. I was shocked at how it came out. I need to fix the piping on the front corners so was thinking of painting it to match the rest of the tan unless someone has a better idea.

The Elliot I got is a true navy blue but looked faded and, of course, there were the scratches. If it was teal, I would try blending the navy with a bit of olive green and see if that works. If not, there is another green that might do it or possibly bone or ivory. I don't think the Meltonian comes in a teal but I haven't checked. It would be nice if it did.
